Saban's Future

You know he is getting tired of this coaching turnover. I know he would never retire after taking a 4TD beatdown, but you have to believe he is ready to say "frick this shite". I think if you see him hire a group of older more experienced staff, he plans to stay around a few more years. If he hires a group of younger coaches, then it will show that he is looking for a stop gap to get him to retirement (next year). It will be interesting.

Alabama is the shitties football program in the SEC. Dude should RUN away from that shite stain.
Can we go ahead and kick Alabama out of the SEC?

I think if he gets one more NT he is gone. I don’t think he will let himself get ina position where people start saying it’s time to step down.

His retirement is being discussed. Wants it to be done gracefully. Should be public soon.

In the past he didn't care about appeasing coaches. They knew what they were getting into when they were hired. Just like with Bowden, the older you get, the more you want to protect the legacy that you built. You start hiring coaches that you think will continue the success you built after you leave. That is why I think this round of hiring will tell a lot.

He has to wear shades.

I really think Saban wanted to make wholesale changes on the Defensive side of the Ball. Now, I do not think he wants that much turnover.

definitely he needs to find coaches that are willing to bite his lip long enough to learn, and not leave. bama needs it more than anything, so their AD needs to step up to the plate. Yeah dabo is "possible" as much as gruden was to UT. All based on connection when younger, but both moved on to be larger than just going back "home" when called. No current proven saban disciples out there yet, so bama really does need to figure out a retirement plan sooner than later. Keep saban until he wants to stay, but needing something pretty "plug and play" to maintain what they have long term. Not seeing a drop after a couple of yrs.
sooners showed a school like bama how to do it. osu kinda did it, but meyer had to be dram about why he had to quit. So not surprising when he did.
bama could be to cocky though which would be good for the rest. Whether it's next year or 10 yrs from now. Im just the "need to be prepared for anything, so no surprises" kind of guy. Just nvr know the final reason why saban wont walk on campus any longer one day.

Does Saban ever think he is “walking onto a campus”?
That is a professional “NFL lite” program.
I don’t think anyone associated with that program considers Bama to be a college campus.
Nothing against you or your comments.

He definitely has some serious turnover to deal with, and seems infinitely worse these days. Maybe it's that ornery old man thing ...

Those coaches will have to stop getting offered head coaching jobs and promotions elsewhere as well.

You guys are like hyenas.
You think this would break Saban? 14-1? He’s faced worse.
Saban is perhaps the most mentally tough, focused coach ever. He is focused and working his arse off right now.

Correct.
So he realizes the effects of....
Clemson
Georgia
Georgia
Clemson
Recruiting by
LSU
Auburn
Texas A&M
Georgia
Florida
Tennessee
And fair officiating
There is actually a possibility that he never wins another NC.
