Is it already the greatest run in College Football history? In terms of achievements, dominance, and stability...

Maybe.

The U from '83-'92 won four Natty's ('83, '87, '89' and '91). They also ostensibly played for three others in that span ('85, '86, and '92).

I'm not a fan of the U in the least (nor Bama) for that matter.

Neither was I but I still know the USA was back to back champs when in came to world wars!!

Seriously though you didn't have to be there to have the information. The internet is your friend, friend.

I should have been more specific... for an individual coach... the U had several coaches during that run

The only one that comes close in my lifetime is Bowden in the 90s. And he was 15 years into that job when that run started

I was. Saban will never match the terrifying force that was a Wallace Wade offense. When they got going, you could almost imagine a forward pass resulting from their plays. Almost.

My problem with the U was that they were seriously cheating sons-of-bitches even by college football standards. It takes some cheating to pull that off. SMU had nothing on them.

Since my metric is winning percentage, then no.

The OP did include "stability" in his criteria. IMO, Bama 2016 is way ahead of the U early-mid 90's in that regard.

I think what is fair to say is that Saban has had the best 10 year run of any HC while the U has had the best 10 year run
