then that means that the guy that hired Saban to be an assistant should get a cut of Saban's salary too.

Saban is probably the #1 reason among many other reasons that coaching salaries across the board have absolutely exploded like crazy the past decade.
He's single handily redefined the market for what you have to pay a coach and staff.
