Greeny asks him about NIL:
Saban, says, that he believes the athletes should have the opportunity to use their NIL for their own gains.
Said, he is concerned about interference between outside sources and the athletes in recruiting.
Thinks there needs to be more parody and regulations as far as recruiting.
I, for one, am all about the athletes being paid for their services. Especially at the expense of ruffling Sabans feathers. I think NIL has maybe weakened the stronghold that he’s had at Alabama and leveled the field for everyone else.

I think they’re about to sign an entire defense of 5 stars. Nothing changed.

Bama had arguably a better portal class than anyone

Have you looked at their recruiting class? They are doing very well, same as they have without NIL’s presence.

Look at the recruiting scoreboard buddy, we're doing just fine.

An LSU fan having a bad take and completely misunderstanding Saban's point is the least surprising thing ever.

Bama will still be one or two every year. NIL hasn't hurt Bama the slightest. Bama always start slow because they like to get a lot of the kids to camo before offering. I believe they have the highest per avg recruit according to 247.

He’s 100% correct. Was NIL was sold as, versus what it turned into immediately, are two completely different things.

So the guy who has made a living off of having a huge talent advantage over his opponents now wants parity. We saw how Saban bombed in the NFL when he was on equal footing. Last thing he wants is parity.

This is pretty much your whole point, which is fine and I get it. Gotta be old, particularly for LSU fans, to see Saban do what he has done for 15 years at Alabama.

But ignoring/dismissing Saban’s (and many other coaches’) warnings about what unchecked/unregulated NIL and free agency will do to college football is foolish in the long run. And you know it.

Bama is the retired wealthy guy at the country club who lives in the mansion that is always talking about how hard The economy has been on his portfolio.

Saban wants competitive balance, that means, like NFL, the best teams draft (recruit) last.
He's worried his five stars will get bought instead of recruited.
