Saban comments on Brian Kelly
Saban knows LSU made a good hire, could be perceived as taking a subtle shot at Orgeron.
“I told him that I thought he would do an outstanding job there and it’s certainly going to be challenging for us playing against,” Saban said. “They’ve always got good personnel and now they’ve got a really good coach. Not that they’ve not had great coaches in the past, but just a real challenging situation for us. But I’m sure he’ll do a great job there.”

Hell les did do a helluva job until the rematch against Alabama in 2012.

I feel like Saban tends to make these kind of compliments when he knows it's someone that he will be able to beat.

Saban respects Kelly. You can tell when he's just doing coach speak and when he's being honest and I remember him speaking very detailed and highly of him before the 2020 playoff game.

Plenty of people dislike Saban for one reason or another, but he has always generally been nothing but respectful of his opponents and opposing coaches (I guess outside his little beef with Jimbo this past offseason

Saban knows better than to drink the rat poison and talk negatively unless first attacked. I bet he just rolled his eyes at the "roll tide what frick you" deal.
