From a facility point of view that’s not true at all, but even if you’re right Saban in 2007 had the LSU experience to draw from, not to mention his 2 years in the NFL.
Facilities don't win games, talent and coaching does. LSU experience? He did the same thing at LSU, Mich St, and Bama. Bama had not one player drafter in 2008, Saban's second season at Bama.

"As it turns out, what I learned from that experience in hindsight was, it was a huge mistake to leave college football," Saban said. "And I know a lot of LSU fans think I left for whatever reasons, but I left because I wanted to be a pro coach, or thought I wanted to be a pro coach. We loved LSU. We worked hard to build the program. If there was one thing professionally that I would do over again, it would've been not to leave LSU."
I can understand that. I've left jobs for what I thought was a "better" position, then discovered that it was a mistake.
I'm in a similar situation, where I left the "more prestigious" job for one that pays great and is 1000x more enjoyable.

I just doubt he really regrets scratching that itch.
Maybe?
How many here have "scratched that itch" and did regret it later? How many are grateful for the knowledge vs how many regret the lost time?

I don’t k ow that he would have had the same success at LSU or Ohio State or ND had he stayed in CFB. JMO but I think scratching that itch and him understanding what he is made him the coach Bama has. If he had stayed in college I don’t know if he has the kind of continued success he has been able to enjoy. Sometimes the mistakes we make and learn from make us better individuals.
There's some truth to that. It was clear that he'd win at least another championship at LSU. The recruiting was getting insane.
But I think he evolved as a coach after Miami. Personally, I'm not sure

The only way I could see Saban having true regrets over bolting for the NFL would be if it cost him his marriage or something along those lines.
Otherwise, this is just shite you say to the media and he's not at all sorry for taking a leap.

Lifelong fan and season ticket holder. Very grateful Saban came to LSU and I’ll respect him always. I don’t get to choose what other people do with their life.

What other school was he coaching at when he left CFB? Of course he’s going to mention LSU
He certainly could have regretted leaving MSU for LSU.
The man said it was the greatest regret of his coaching career. He’s coached at a lot of places.
You’re being insecure. Shocker.

I wonder how long it will take for the reality of his statement to creep up on the Bama fans.

Oh man, I knew bama fans wouldn't like this lol. He's just telling the truth. He and his family loved Louisiana and LSU, and still do. Alabama is lame. There's only 1 LSU and only 1 Louisiana. Geaux Tigers.

How does one miss that exact fricking quote where he explicitly says leaving LSU, by name, is the greatest regret of his professional career.

I thought it was well known that he regretted leaving LSU? Why do you think he decided to go back to college?
It's quite possible that he likes Louisiana more than he does Alabama, but he's in Tuscaloosa now. Makes no difference to me which university he loves the best, so long as he remembers who he coaches for when LSU comes to town.

Numb nuts, he regrets leaving college football. He likes L8U.
Now ask yourself one question.
Who’s arse hurts the most?
L8U, because he left them and coaches the University of Alabama.
Bama, because he Said he wishes he had never left College football .
We have him.
You don’t.
Go ahead and Melt, we will hold your beer.

After calling Saban a liar for over a decade, LSU fans suddenly believe everything he says ITT.

What did he do differently at those schools? It was the same process at each. The only difference was how successful his process was at each one.
