I can agree with that. We can all guess what would have happened based on his success at Bama, but who knows what would have really happened? No point on dwelling on it. It’s been 15 years since he was at LSU. Any number of things could have happened.

I've always said, I like him as a coach... but not as a person. That's all because of the way he left the NFL, not because of how he left LSU.

I agree he wouldn’t be as good without the experience as an NFL coach
But he still would have been damn good and won multiple more NCs at LSU by now. He’d also have been THE guy in LSU history as opposed to Alabama who already had boatloads of success prior to his arrival.

what in that post isn’t true?

Note, these comments were made while being the current head coach at Alabama

I hated Saban when he first went to Bama and again for a while after 1/9/12, but I've moved on. I'm at the point now where I just respect the man. He's the greatest coach in CFB and has been nothing but respectful when talking about LSU or any other program. The only thing that rubs me the wrong way about him is how he talks to reporters. I get that it gets old having to answer their questions but he talks to them like pieces of shite when they're just trying to do their job. I'd have a hard time not telling him to go frick himself if he talked to me like that on TV.

I think it’s pretty funny most of the time actually
Also a lot of those dumb questions he goes off on are set up bc he wants to get a message to his team.

Uh I'm not so sure about that dude. I'm pretty sure he would have alot of titles if he would have stayed at LSU.

How does one miss that exact fricking quote where he explicitly says leaving LSU, by name, is the greatest regret of his professional career.
Nah, just college in genera
Of course he’s going to mention LSU

So Saban is saying his current job sucks and he still loves LSU

Yep, that's pretty much what I got out of it.

Unfortunate for LSU. Oh well.

Though to be perfectly honest, I don't think Saban regrets it at all. He tested the waters and scratched that itch. I'm sure he enjoys being recognized as a hugely successful coach with tons of rings who gets to drive all the Benzos he wants. He's just telling people what he knows they want to hear. I'm sure he did genuinely enjoy his time in Baton Rouge though. I just doubt he really regrets scratching that itch.

In 5 years Saban won 1 NC and never had back to back 10 win seasons at LSU. He wouldn't have been considered the greatest of all time if he had stayed at LSU.
