I mean, it's Shaft. The same poster who used to argue on the Bama board that Bryce Young had a noodle arm and wouldn't get drafted in the 1st round.

Yeah, ok. It's funny how no one besides Xavier Griffin's mom will go on record and say Saban doesn't have extensive involvement with the football team.

I said Bryce has a noodle arm and should've stayed in school. I also have said Bryce got more out of playing for Saban than any other previous Saban player b/c his body of work and his physical abilities shown he wasn't deserving of the Heisman nor being the #1 overall pick.

He was the #1 overall pick, so you're saying he should have stayed in school to...improve his draft position?

Yeah, and what was her response? It was that Saban didn't offer them and he didn't talk to them at all during the recruitment. So, as usual, you appear to be spot-on with your analysis!

1. Why would you expect every recruit to waste time trying to debunk allegations from opposing fans? Why would they give a frick? They're committed to play for DeBoer and his staff.

2. Read the AL.com article I linked to. Further, DeBoer was attending Kierston Russell's funeral during the last recruiting weekend, which is one of the reasons why Saban stepped up to visit with recruits. However, as the article mentioned, it was a one-off deal.

Ah, so this is what LSU fans sounded like when Miles was entering his second season.

No, he should’ve stayed in school and waited for an opportunity with a better organization—one that could provide the talent and infrastructure needed to support a longer, more successful NFL career. Bryce has always thrived when surrounded by elite talent, from Mater Dei to Alabama. He’s the kind of quarterback who needs a strong supporting cast to succeed; he’s not someone who elevates the players around him. In contrast, C.J. Stroud, despite also benefiting from talent at Ohio State, has already shown in the NFL that he can raise the level of those around him—turning a previously overlooked Texans receiving corps into legitimate threats.

A&M, LSU, USC, OU, Michigan are where I'd bet.

He'll take a head coach role at somewhere with resources, that has a coach who is doing mediocre, at a school that doesn't have an outrageous buyout for their HC.

Who fits this scenario? A&M, LSU (if BK doesn't make playoffs this year, and Todd Graves will fork up $50 mil bc I'm sure Graves has nostalgia for LSU Saban), USC, OU, Michigan.

I heard Saban and Sexton are using this to get more money from ESPN. Saban hasn't came out yet, and negated this, so part of me think this may be true as it is radio silent from him.

I doubt Bama because Deboer has a $70 million buyout, and it's just his 1st season. Got to give him at least 3 seasons. Saban won't take any role other than head coach. It'd be awkward if he comes in as an assistant coach because he's going to want control, players will listen to him more, then the head coach will become obsolete.

The other place I could see Saban going to would be Florida for many of the very reasons you've outlined.

Florida could be an option, and I'd imagine Saban would look at what Urban Meyer was able to do almost immediately as a selling point.

I heard Saban was coming back to Bama and Jon Gruden was taking over for Heupel at Tenner. TIFWIW.

Florida has become more of a basketball school and doesn’t have great institutional commitment to football right now

Saban has to adapt though. So many old coaches that went past their prime that couldn't adapt. Mack Brown, Steve Spurrier, Joe Paterno, Les Miles at Kansas, Bobby Bowden, I bet Bellichick is the same.

Saban feels a little different. Probably because he was 1 inexplicable Milroe fumble away vs Michigan from winning an 8th nati as Bama would've beat Washington. It's a gamble, but if any coach can do it in his 70s, it'd be Saban.
