Saban entered the SEC with a lot of pretenders as coach, now he’s facing contenders

Will Alabama win another title under Saban with so many SEC contenders now? He loss to Fisher last year, this year he loss to Tenn, he loss to LSU, he may lose to Ole Miss, he would get destroyed by Ga.

When Saban entered the SEC, Urban Myer was at his best, and LSU fans were calling Les Miles better than Bear Bryant.

The game has definitely changed. With all of the money from TV deals etc the SEC is getting more balanced and more and more teams are on equal footing. From 2007-2020 no one could really match what Saban and Bama were doing but with NIL and other money flows more and more SEC schools are willing to spend the money to get on Bama’s level and are now getting big time recruits and transfers that rival Bama. Also, your seeing many more top notch coaches who can put it all together with some of them products of the Saban coaching tree.

Actually, you’re right. That was Bama fan “BamaScoop,” and LSU fans were slobbing his knob proclaiming how wonderful it was to have a Bama fan on the board who wasn’t delusional.

THAT IS A DAMN LIE! We were much too busy being butthurt by him taking the Alabama job.

BamaScoop
Those pre ATPB days were calm compared to what this board has become now.

The Saban era of dominance in the SEC may be over. Be nice, we may be burying a dynasty.

In Saban’s first 4 years at Bama, 4 different SEC teams won national championships.

It'll take more than a 2-loss campaign before I'll start throwing dirt on Saban's grave.

Yes but those that won them didn’t last long except for Miles. All he had to worry about was LSU and Fla. He wasn’t losing to two teams in the East and three in the West, but he is now.

There were 6 different NC-winning (including future) SEC coaches in 2007:
Miles
Fulmer
Meyer
Saban
Spurrier
Orgeron
And then add 13-0 Tuberville who didn't get a shot at a NC in 2004.

Now do the math, when Saban was at his peak years of dominance in the SEC. Saban wasn’t losing to four SEC teams. He might this year, if he played Ga too.

I listened to Colin Cowherd today too.

The national sports media are enjoying this.

This is a crock of hippo shite. Most of us would’ve gladly let him go to get Saban back when he originally wanted to come back to LSU. Bama was his fall back plan.

Coach Tuberville wasn't impressed.

I agree. Particularly when those are 2 road losses on the last play of the game vs #5 and #7.
