Love him or hate him, glad he’s around for us to witness.

Like it or not. Saban is good for the SEC.

He's certainly made everyone a helluva lot of money.

Alabama hasn't lost to an unranked team in 13 years.

I’ll tell you my appreciation of the man. I have a PhD in psychology and when all others are evaluating players based on stats and physicality, Saban understands people are humans. Yes, he may have anger issues at times (warranted or not), he evaluates and develops players psychologically to either join or buy into his system. Are there misses? Yes. Is he perfect? Absolutely not. But at least he attempts at a whole person approach to match achievement in his methodology. I appreciate that aspect of his coaching.
Socially, he may not be a “people person” by our manneristic understanding, but at the very least he knows how to evaluate and profile well in order to reach his goals.

He changed and put in place the foundation for a powerhouse at LSU that lasted 20 years. We underachieved for the most part, but the foundation was there. That foundation is currently being destroyed.

Great evaluation. Very honest.

Best coach ever.
Never overlooks opponents. His team is always the “hunted” yet they play like “hunters” every week
Adjusts his offenses/defenses to fit modern schemes
Doesn’t run up the score
Is like 5’2 but is the most intimidating person on the sidelines
Best big game coach ever, and woe to whoever decided to make one of his teams an underdog
He made Alabama the best program in the history of CFB, surpassing all other “blue bloods”

He’s definitely a great coach. Certainly someone I would not want to eat dinner with however.

There have been certain sports related people that have come along in my lifetime that have been truly special and done astonishing things.
Wayne Gretzky
Michael Jordan
Nolan Ryan
Herschel Walker/Bo Jackson
and yes, Nick Saban.
Unfortunately, we tend to not understand their greatness or fully appreciate their greatness until after they are gone.
