First of all, go hogs!

Second, do you Kentucky fans want an arena on campus? I think thats some of the reason why the atmosphere isn’t always crazy at Rupp. When I was there, it seemed like a convention center. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Rupp is fine how it is. It gets rocking for big games. If we had better home games it would be on display more. We’ve only had one ranked home game in Kansas this year. The only problem with Rupp is that all the lower level is filled with older season ticket holders with a lot of money. If we could get younger fans down there it’d be way better

Rupp is located at the center of the city which makes perfect sense. We've got Memorial Coliseum on campus if we want to play games on campus.

I can see that. Same with the Bud. Also, we only let 3k students in, which is half of places like Kansas.

In small towns, i think Downtown is better.

The location isn’t the issue.

They need to install more luxury boxes to move the old boosters off the floor and put the students all the way around the floor.

Lexington is close to 300k. It’s not a small town.

MSA is over 1/2 million

Issue with Rupp is they downsized. Back in the day it rocked.

With Cal UK plays the best games on the road. Hard to get excited for a weekend game that involves a team with an RPI abound 250.

Lex is a city but a lot of that pop is the burbs metro area. Like I wouldn't call Man O War part of the city but it's considered Lexington.

Arkansas brass want to build an off campus arena just like Rupp in the middle of Fayetteville.

Last I heard, Tyson would foot the bill, which is contrary to the rumor a few months ago that Walmart wanted to do it.

Rupp has always an older "wine and cheese" type crowd.

But for KY, "Vienna sausage and Natty Lite" probably more accurate.

From someone who deals with the University athletic department internally.

They are supposedly in a constant fight with season tix holders and want a ton more suites.

Yes, it has a very nice and clean downtown for a larger city. When we drove through Kentucky, I was very impressed on it. It was one of my favorite states to drive through. I’m Arkansas, the pastures are cows and barbed fences. I don’t recall seeing any cows. I just saw horses and miles and miles of white picket fences. Stunning!

It would be a mistake IMO. But maybe I am wrong.
