DGD not to continue to be negative, however, getting a programmer for my truck was probably the biggest waste of money ever. But it is your money

no no, i will consider all advice. why you think it was a waste?

i have heard these are worthless and i understand the dude is wanting to make some commission off of selling me one but this programmer looks awesome. it has a unit i set on my windshield and i can put it in towing mode and get around 30 ft/lbs of extra torque, 30 extra HP in sport mode, or maybe increase my mileage 2-4 mpg. i know programmers/chips do much less on trucks but problem in my truck went from around 13-14 mpg around town to like 11 and i wanted to do what i could to help the engine out. and my truck is as slow as anything.

why did you not like it basically, and what would you recommend?

I know young Drs and Lawyers who are in their late 20s who graduated from UMC and Ole Miss Law School and they are far from rich. Due to HUGE student loans.

That's the thing...I have all these loans to pay. And I can't find a job for the life of me. Every time I interview for a job, I'm told I don't have enough experience. Which I think is crap. I have a lot of experience in my field.

That's why I decided to go back to school. Go a whole different direction where I know jobs are available. I need to pay these loans off.

Honestly in my experience gas engines really do not perform any different with or without a programmer. Mine was about 400 dollars, hypertech on a 2002 f150. I noticed NO increase in mileage and maybe a little more power (it could have all been in my head ) I bought it when I was really into improving my trucks performance but I had buyers remorse almost immediately. The one positive is it fixed my speedometer as I have a lift. Also the "expected" gains are always inflated. If you have not already, go to f150online.com it is easily the best website for f150s and has a plethora of information on this subject.

A superchip programmer gave my truck more speed and power, and increased my mpg from 13 to around 17 on average. It will get 21mpg goin 65 on the hwy.

hypertech

that was your problem, I had one on a 99 z71 it didn't help much except for taking off the speed limiter and fixing the speedometer.

Go with Superchip, it made a big difference in my 08 chevy z71

make pretty decent money for a college student, around 600 a week, but I'm getting a raise this week so that'll help. If i wasn't in school I could get a manager job making 120 grand a year

Pay for college students working while in school must have increased like crazy in the past 5-6 years. That's a lot of Money to make a week if you're also in school full time.

I only pulled in $300 bi-weekly when I worked for the university as a college student. I wish I got $600.

that's what i'm making during the summer, I don't get to work during school. I have worked the same place for years so I'm pretty high up because of experience, like I said, I could have a manager job there if i wasn't in school

SC DOES have more talent than MS....but it's a bigger state. PER CAPITA, I believe MS has the most players in the NFL, but there is only 3 mil people in MS. SC has 4.6 mil ...the others:

AL = 4.7 mil
AR = 2.9 mil
FL = 18.5 mil
GA = 7.8 mil
LA = 4.5 mil

Appreciate it Delta

And I get ya reb, may need to check the site.

But yea delta, before my truck got 14 if I drove without a lead foot around town and 16.5 on the highway. Now my truck gets 10-11 and like 13 highway. Yea, fixing my speedometer would be nice, but I'd LOVE to get my mileage up. Performance could really use and upgrade too. My truck is the last year they put the 5.4L triton in the F150 yet it drives slower than any before models. I know my model style is heavier than past F150s but it's so slow I have to floor it and wait a second until I can pass. The 2 in lift and 35s didn't help.

I want a cold air intake too but I can do only one at a time and I figured a programmer would help. I'll check your programmer out but what have you heard about the bullydog?
