You will be upset when KU makes the playoffs in the coming years.

frick them for thinking they're bigger than they are

I hate their 2 conference tie in established to avoid a Southern arse whipping and perpetuate the Midwest and West Coast media bias of the time, but it is the original bowl.

Their vote should carry more weight.

I've no problem with it as CFB traditions are dying left and right

If they must expand, why not start with 6 or 8? 12 seems so radical.
Yes, do things incrementally. That's how TPTB get the sheep to follow along. It's been a working formula for centuries.

the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl should be permanent semifinals.

I bet he was and I know I was.

Rarely are there more than 3 teams worthy of playing in the playoffs. There was at least one year we were the first team out and we agreed we did not belong.

The two aspects that make things valuable are demand and scarcity. A 12 team playoff takes scarcity out of the equation.

The Rose Bowl limited themselves to two second rate conferences back in the 1940s. Now they think they should run college football. Screw them, big time.

Work up the playoffs without them. If the CFP Committee lets Rose bowl people dictate then why should not other bowls dictate how they want it to run.

When the CFP goes to 12 teams then the Rose Bowl will be stuck with teams no higher than 13 and 14, every year.

I find the Rose Bowl to generally be the least attractive game during bowl season, with a few exceptions.

I personally would prefer an 8 team playoff.

6 Teams. #1 and #2 get a bye.

Quarterfinals
3 vs 6
4 v 5

The problem is that you are looking at it through a BCS, pre-playoff lens. The argument isn't between who, rightfully, should be the No1 and No2 teams. The argument has shifted to who is, rightfully, the No 4 and No. 5 team. And that is where it gets very vague, so expansion is the only logical conclusion.

That is a self perpetuating argument that leads to 64 teams in the playoff.

Everyone saw this coming. It is retarded.

I haven't seen it put that way.

But it is correct.

Hell.. college football "had" scarcity in the 12 regular season games where any 1 loss/tie could ruin chances for a national championship. The stress of walking a tight rope.

Now, the regular season will be as meaningless as the NBA or NHL regular season. The bottom dwellers will get thrashed in the first rounds. And everyone will wonder why teams are punished with injuries during conference championship week.

Because "Gus" literally couldn't even, and incorrectly assumed they would get different results if they no longer played DSOR & Iron Bowl within the same 3 week span.

Fixed
