He made a few plays last night and was disruptive. Not sure what you were looking for.

Ever wonder why even the best pass rushers have less sacks than there are games in a season? They don't always get to the QB, it's not only about sacks

This.

The most important thing a DE can do aside from sacks is eat up blockers. If the OL has to concentrate on keeping you in check, then the rest of the D can wreck the offense.

As I see thread title all I could think was please don't be an LSU fan. Once I saw MSU all I could do was laugh.

I don't want to ever hear the names Nkemdiche or Treadwell again.

I think there's a potential negotiation here if the name "Johnny Football" is on the table...

If anyone needs to find a new hobby it's you constantly bitching about all things Dan Mullen and white knighting for Ole Miss. But, let's be honest that will never happen as it occupies a large portion of your life, only playing second fiddle to your jock sniffing of every 18 year old football player that steps foot on campus in T-town.

Just did a quick check of four NFL teams that run the 4-3. Buffalo, Miami, NYG, and Dallas.

Buffalo's DEs weigh 291 and 302
Miami: 258 and 268
NYG: 268 and 278
Dallas: 260 and 260

Kept looking. Seems like some teams like 'em around 290-300 (one starter goes 324), but others prefer 260-270.

To be honest, I expected bigger guys. Nkemdiche looks like an end to me rather than a tackle because of his mobility, but maybe he will struggle in the pass rush. I'm gonna assume that because this was his first game, he's gonna be a splendid DE.

Can I ask you something. How many college games has he played?? How old is the kid??

Wait, I thought lackluster performances in one's first collegiate game are inexcusable.

People keep talking weight but he's roughly 300lbs and has a six pack. I don't think his problem is speed. His problem right now is overpursuit and technique. Right now all he can do is bullrush which means he was getting that pressure just off strength and athleticism. Scary thought.

His base is ridiculous for an 18 year old, I agree.

Serious question. Who do you hate more; State or Auburn?

quote: Your gonna get bashed... but I somewhat agree with you. I think he would make a better DT than DE. First - it's you're, not your. Second - it was his first college game, of which he started as a FR. how well did the two of you do in your first SEC game? Finally - MSU fans need to figure out a new hobby besides obsessing over all things Ole Miss and constantly trying to convince the rest of us that Ole Miss isn't good, is over-rated, etc. Ole Miss isn't going to win the title this year, but they'll beat State by 2 TDs.

I will agree with this. If he's going to stay at that weight then he needs to slide inside. If he loses 20-30lbs then he would be really, really special as a DE.

The kid has about 4% boy fat. He is 290 all muscle. He could play at 305 and still be above average speed for a DE.
