I love the hire for A&M. The guy is going to get eaten alive in the SEC west.

He wasn’t good enough for Ark and Mizzou.

Perfect hire for Aubie to plant them in the bottom of the West. Grats Aubies.

Remember when a coach born in West Virginia worked for Toledo and Michigan State..

But was hired by LSU because he showed promise?

I think it worked out for him. Point is, none of know how this will work out.

You hired a career position coach. Missouri hired a guy who worked for our coach.

Is it anything like the suckfest Arkansas has been the last decade? I'm confident Auburn will NEVER reach those lows.

I mean no one knows how he'll pan out. If I was an Auburn fan, I'd be optimistic due to how he's won everywhere he has coached. I'd like the fact that he was young. He was apparently a QB in college and a QB coach later on, so that might help with developing Bo Nix's raw talent.

On the flipside, he's never coached in the SEC. He's coached only one year in the South. Can he recruit down here? Can he handle the pressure that comes along with a big job?

I think Auburn could have done worse. They possibly could have done better, but until he coaches a season or two, no one knows.

I am just glad it wasn't Freeze or Lane. Either would have been a problem. One thing the barn group fully understands is their program ain't all that outside of Lee County.

Auburn isn't going anywhere. They aren't going to be passed by the Mississippi schools or little Arkansas. It doesn't matter who the coach is at Auburn, they all have the same resume over time. A few great seasons, a few seasons of struggles, and a lot of 8-4 type years in between.

It's been that way for 40 years spanning the previous 5 coaches. I don't see that changing.

Reminds me of Texas fans after they fired Mack Brown.

Bilema, Morris, and a guy that's never been anything but a position coach. Post more on "good enough for Ark"!

How about a coach that play OL at UGA and was hired away from Wyoming?

At first I LOLed at the Barn for this hire.

After doing a little bit of reading on the guy I think this could be a really good hire for them.

No ties to the area, so 'crootin' is going to be tough sledding if he doesn't get some outstanding recruiters on his staff.
