Yep, 21 points and 14 rebounds. Man is a beast.

Western Kentucky is a scary good little program. They are the 15th best in the country in number of games won. Only Kentucky (the number 1) in the SEC has more wins then they do.
As for Memphis, its a tough loss. There is just so much talent in Memphis but they seem to have a hard time getting those players to pull together.

One of the dumbest things Mississippi State ever did was firing him. fricking Ben Howland can't even win in Starkville, yet Stansbury was taking them to the NCAA'S nearly every year.

When players get worse at shooting after leaving high school you know something ain't right.

He clowned Gafford when we played them. I'm surprised he is still there. Did the ACL kill his draft stock or something?

Renardo frickin Sidney ended him. I idolized those early to mid 2000’s state teams. Had some great battles with Alabama and Kentucky through those years. Gotfried/Stansbury rivalry was underrated

Exactly Sidney killed the Stansbury era at State. I always liked him but that gamble was a high risk high reward. Unfortunately it failed and it cost him his job at State.
Sidney was the catalyst that destroyed a good basketball program.
I am glad he is doing well at WKU.

quote:Yes. It was more than an ACL. Something about his tibia/fibula hyperextending and cracking the bones. This WKU team could make a deep run this year, although Stans is known to blow it in the postseason.

Sidney will always be remembered for fighting over a bucket of chicken in the stands in Hawaii.

Back in the days when we had good teams and tv networks weren't such money whores, we could beat Kentucky every once in a while. Would never happen today but that's just another thing that has changed with the sport. I hate men's basketball now in so many ways.
