Rewatching LSU/UCLA and it is amazing how weak and feeble LSU is on both sides of the line

Even with 6th year players on the OL, those guys are pitiful.
They will get the fisting of their life in the SEC.

They just don't have SEC OL. They returned a bunch of guys who couldn't block anyone last year as mostly upperclassmen.

Maason Smith should be in every down even if they have to give him oxygen or meth or whatever in between series

Honestly it's just the same defense as last year.
Just running around, no discipline, and constantly blowing assignments. Just a big play waiting to happen.
UCLA was bringing the house every down on defense and LSU still brought no one in to protect Max. Hell they could have thrown quick outs to the receivers all day with the cushion they were given

The DL played well, the linebackers and safeties were atrocious.
And it's definitely clear they have no idea who are best 5 are on the OL right now. We played 9 different guys last night there.

Being ranked top 5 every year in recruiting but with mostly 3 and 4 star “projects” on the OL every year shows that it ain’t all about that total class ranking

LSU has a terrible combination of not having any elite tackles while also not having any road graders outside or inside.
It's like they can't figure out what to try and turn these guys into and they end up somewhere in between on all of them.
Like, what does Deculus do well? He's been starting for 4+ years and he's just kind of there. Same with the interior guys. Poor recruiting and as bad or worse coaching. You just can't win consistently with a OL that can't do either at least one of run or pass blocking at a high level.

The fact that LSU just cannot run the football at all is mind boggling.
