Matt Canada’s future as LSU offensive coordinator has been in peril since he drew some criticism from coach Ed Orgeron following the loss to Troy earlier this season.
Now, a report from Football Scoop suggests Canada may be looking for his own exit. A report about the recently opened Rice job said, “We are also told LSU offensive coordinator Matt Canada is seeking an interview.”
That followed a report from college football insider Chris Landry, who said the Canada-Orgeron relationship continued to be strained, and Canada would seek a Group of 5 job after the season.
Orgeron has said if Canada left, he would consider moving Steve Ensminger to the offensive coordinator position for the Tigers’ bowl game.
In Canada’s first year as offensive coordinator, the Tigers were seventh in the SEC in total offense, and ninth in scoring offense.
Canada, an Indiana graduate, was previously the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Pittsburgh, N.C. State, Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.

I will miss the Jet Sweep so much better than toss dive
I will fondly remember Canada as a man who took a team that couldn't get lined up and play off on time consistently to a team that could do it and have crazy motion

I think we all saw this coming. Seems those two fight like brothers but it does make you wonder now why has Canada bounced around so much.

That would suck for LSU. I thought Canada did a helluva job this year.

Not terrible considering who you had behind center, IMO.

Danny Etling couldn't throw for shite
Yet LSU fans we're dogging Canada for the season because Etling couldn't complete a pass past 10 yards
