I mean, yeah, they shouldn't exist. I think they're stupid too. But they do.

I get that mentality but I love the tourney- you’ve still got a shot even if your season hasn’t been great. It keeps things exciting unlike football.

Yeah, I get that. Part of what puts the Madness in March.
I always think back to 2000 when Kenyon Martin broke his leg and just ruined Cincy's chances of winning anything. They should've just sat out. I didn't watch any of our SECT games in 07 and 14 because I just knew someone would get seriously hurt if I did.
