Maybe the craziest stat from that season: FIVE teams that were in the AP top-5 at some point in 2007 have never been there in any other year before or since.

May be thinking of another year but wasn’t there a streak where at least two Top 5 teams lost. I know a few years ago we had a streak where #2 team lost for like 3 or 4 weeks in a row

For a team that has lost to Troy at home in recent seasons

That big talk from a team that just lost to a 3-9 Vanderbilt.

I guess when you’re 6-6 that loss doesn’t sting as much

UK @ SC was a top 15 matchup.

We also beat Louisville when they were #9 early that season too.

We were just too banged up after the LSU game to really take that season to another level. Still was a hell of a lot of fun to watch.

Arkansas def. #1 LSU, 50-48

Has any program fallen further than the Razorbacks since then?

Won the West the year before, a trip to the Cotton Bowl that season.

Dude Mizzou is a dumpster fire right now and has been for years.. LSU and Missouri could play 10 games in 10 days right now and LSU would win all of them by an average of over 20 ppg.

Stop acting like Mizzou is even in LSUs league because they are far from it lol.

This hypothetical is the closest Mizzou will ever come to actually beating LSU.

Well, we have.

It was odd for sure, but their schedule was absolute dog shite. Their best win during the regular season was against 8-5 Central Michigan.

we haven’t had a team this decade that would get more than 4 wins with that same schedule

Dont forget Tebow won the Heisman as the first soph in history.

That year was insane.

Well being that Mizzou and LSU are tied 1 to 1 in wins in our two all time meetings, that's downright false

Mizzou beat LSU in football? Hmmm. I wonder why I don’t remember that. Oh, that’s because it was in a meaningless bowl game 42 years ago. I doubt you were even alive. We all know what happened more recently after Mizzou fans talked so much shite here though. Ed O took a mercy knee on their pathetic program.

It cracks me up that Mizzou fans are still bringing up Troy all these years later. That was a different LSU team, one that was much more similar to the one that still whipped Mizzou’s arse.

Those early 2000s games with Tennessee were some good ones.

That was the game that was postponed to Monday night because of Rita, following on the heels of Katrina, and the second game of the year after the first game was moved to Arizona State. Lsu had a new HC, new DC, and disrupted practices. The campus was a triage center, while refugee family members were crowded into players’s apartments. Players lost an average of 20 lbs., had no bye weeks, and still made it to Atlanta with a nicked up team. Miles did a remarkable job that season.

They're also on their 5th head coach since those games and haven't won a conference game in 30 months. That's a pretty big fall.
