Even though for an LSU player seriously though ... about Myles Brennan after his arm operation ...

quote:

When asked if there was a chance Myles would transfer?
quote:
"None whatsoever," Owen said. "Matter of fact, the first thing he said to coach Orgeron was 'How much eligibility do I have?' I don't even think we went to the hospital yet and he had this conversation."

"He is an LSU Tiger through and through. He's not going anywhere. He was getting ready to compete for this job on Friday. He wants to finish his career at LSU as the starting quarterback. Whatever avenue that is, whatever path that takes. That's his goal."

Man it's rare to hear a player say something like this in this day and age with NIL and all that crap. You have to admire the kids who go to their school of choice because it's what they've always wanted their entire life.

Perhaps, but he has had several other perfect opportunities to be gone and is still here

I love his commitment, loyalty, and seeing things through to the end. Kid is A+ in my book.

I agree. Game has changed so much in the last 18-20 months and dramatically.

Used to hear all the time that a team always had one or two very talented player who were all about playing at the school. Now all I hear is NIL, the transfer portal and me, me, me. Kind of sickening.

My post is just a joke post. Because it seems like every time someone says they are staying, they leave shortly after.

Saban will not be the Head Coach at Alabama

But seriously, why would he already talk about transferring? Wasn’t he going to be the starter? So when he’s healed what keeps him from getting his job back?

Now if other dude comes in a tears it up that’s when you think about transferring

Yep. TJ Finley had the opportunity to start 4-5 games last year as a true freshman, an opportunity that doesn't normally happen had Brennan not gotten hurt last year. He decided he wanted to transfer for more playing time after Max Johnson started the last few games. Now he would be competing to start again at LSU had he stayed. The grass isn't always greener, and I don't know what more of an opportunity he's looking for. He was given the keys last year, and was his job to lose. If it didn't work out as a true freshman, you have several more years to improve on any weaknesses, compete, and win the job back. You never know what's going to happen in football with injuries. Kids these days are too entitled. Think they are owed things that aren't earned.

If he does transfer, I'll cheer my arse off for him unless they play LSU.

Yeah Myles grew up wanting to play QB for LSU. Really sad to see this for him, kid has a lot of talent but just can’t stay healthy.

Kinda like Baylor Cupp. Dude was a #1TE recruit a couple of years ago and was supposed to be the next Jace Sternberger. Two years and two season-ending injuries later he is still waiting to take the field in an actual game. Luckily Jalen Wydermeyer has been a nice weapon, but I can’t wait to see what they can both do when on the field at the same time.

As much as I hate to see Myles have a season ending injury…the thought of LSU knowing who their starting QB is..and being able to let him get ALL of the 1st string snaps pre-season..is kinda comforting. Shhhhh..don’t tell anyone. Get well quick Myles!
