Referees need to be held accountable.

SEC Referees answer only to the SEC offices. That is all done behind hushed, closed doors. The press never questions them aside from the occasional comment that they thought otherwise. Coaches are forbidden to comment on them. Their only recourse is to submit queries to the SEC offices and wait for a review and reply.
We're told that referees are evaluated by the SEC office, but never hear of what goes on nor the results of these "evaluations."
Officials clearly enjoy protection from admonition by the public are free to continue with their substandard refereeing.
I propose two things:
1. Pay them more to get better quality referees. They currently earn from $800 to $3000 per game.
2. The Referee team captain be required to face the press after a game to answer questions about any calls made on the field, just as coaches are required to face the press after the game.
This will put more pressure on the refs to get their calls right, to be accountable to the press (and transitionally to the public) for their actions.

I laugh at you and fart in your general direction. The REC will pay a lot more than this pitiful $3000 sum. You think what the REC did to buy off that LB, getting him to quit was something?... nope... just wait till you see the refereeing in the game . And there isn’t anything You corn dogs can do about it except put up billboards. Don’t like it? Take your rump arse to the big XII and let Texas and OK pull a train on you.

If they were tarred, feathered and publicly hanged immediately upon missing a call, they’d definitely not ever make a call that would upset one side or the other. Yeah, I’m with you bro. Great point
