I am not saying #24 is bad, considering the circumstances. It's just that after all the speculation about who the next coach will be, I have heard very little locally said about the challenges he will face as a recruiter.

Just think about what is necessary to climb back to contention for the Eastern division. Only to battle TAMU, LSU, and BAMA to return to the level of success they achieved stated in my OP. It's an interesting turn of events.

Cromp...I hope you Vols are mad at Hart...I posted on this board a long time ago that if UT was going to let Dooley go that they would already have a coach lined up and in their hip pocket...I was wrong...that wasnt a coach in Harts hip pocket...it was flask of Tennessee sour mash whiskey.

How could he not know all the bad things that can happen during coach searches? It makes your school the laughing stock when coaches turn you down..pubically! I remember when Spurrier surprised AD Foley back in 2001..or actually, Jan of 2002 and left. UF was in the media for all the wrong reasons back then when two elite coaches turned us down....or appeared to. Then we got zooked.

Was Hart missing class during AD # 101 about coach searches? Man. It just dont help when things keep piling up. I thought by now Jimbo would be announced as HC and maybe still will be? I have no doubt that Hart has entertained the idea and has been in contact with Jimbos agent. An agent usually represents a few coaches and something is wrong with this picture....with UTs status/facilities/$$ it shouldnt be this hard?

My point exactly, top 10, 4 years ago, and 2 coaches ago, with a notable downturn since.

How do you make up that ground in Tennessee to improve your standing in the ridiculous SEC?

Not trolling, just asking.

Have Vol fans been tracking the UTs Athletic Depts private or leased jets? Thats what UF fans did way back when they were able to pinpoint where AD was traveling to. Its easy to do when you get the serial numbers of the plane and find the website to track.

I'm starting to think Hart is incompetent.

Arky's AD landed Petrino and Wisconsin coach out of nowhere. not many saw it coming, and he just closed the deal right then.

UT is the laughing stock of this off-season. now media will have a field day with more coaching search rumor/bs for UT. UT is a fairly big name so people will pay attention and read the articles.

Well here you go, just heard on sportstalk that Cincinatti has remained competitive under Jones after Kelly left because of his ability to recruit......Cincinatti.

I look forward to seeing his recruiting trends in the South.
