Alabama has and always be the standard in terms of building and maintains success at a high level. As a result, there are generations of Tide fans that have lived in an alternate reality of “dominance”. A 20 year old Alabama student last experienced a 4 loss plus season when he/she was 8. A 45 year old fan can count on one hand the number of losing seasons he/she has ever witnessed and less than 10 with 4 plus losses. As a result they have a certain psychology of “expectation” and “Entitlement”. When you refuse to succumb to it, let alone openly show contempt for it you are labeled trash, unworthy, or otherwise the recipient of venomous displays of outrage. The likes of Texas A&M and Georgia have taken the little brother route by bowing, respecting and otherwise actively coattail riding even when securing he occasional victory. The result is that you never become the target of the Tide, but also you never dethrone them from the pedestal. Tenn, Auburn, Florida and LSU have refused to step aside and as a result all have experienced success at its highest level over the last 25 years. These programs weren’t happy with just beating Alabama, rather they desired to dominate them year in and out. Nick came to LSU with the goal to dominate them. O said from day 1 his goal is to dominate them. God forbid you set such a goal and publicly state it for all yo know. The fall is upon us and it will be ugly. Nick is 68 and clearly lost his edge in big games. When it’s time for him to step aside, the kingdom will splinter into factions as they jockey to find and support the next Bear/Nick. You will see a decade or so of unrest, inconsistency and downright bad football as the Tide program implodes. They know the end is upon them and like a drowning man are grasping for anything in attempt to remain afloat. Enjoy the death spiral and get ready to become a target of their venom as they go down. It will be glorious to watch, but know full well that they will rise against at some point from the ashes.

Reality - enjoy this why it lasts because it won’t last very long if history is any indication.

King George declines to read the DOI. I see lots of similarities between the British Empire of the late 1700s and current state of Alabama football. Much like you guys were able to see the decline following 21-0 but we couldn’t , we are able to see the end of the Saban era at Alabama as it is upon us.
