I mean we are either ripe for the picking as a collective species or they have been watching us for centuries and now *finally* think we are in need of an intervention by a more advanced civilization like theirs

Laugh all you want. Such a wonderful year of college football that was within an era when you could still use your helmet like a deadly weapon as God intended and crush a QB just for fun and not get arrested by the Feds for it. Besides, just like your titles and ours: Nattys are immortal.

At least unlike A&M, we have TV highlights of us winning a natty in football and have won championships in times where black folks were actually allowed access to the sport of college football unlike A&M's 1930s singular title.

Lol indeed. Thought it was hilarious you said "before aliens make contact with us" when ironically they may have indeed made first contact with us for the first time ever this very week. I couldn't wait to break the news to you when I saw you post that. Maybe that means at least A&M has some actual hope now of potentially winning a natty in a meaningful sport

Alright, let’s not get crazy.

Tennessee I can see.

But diet Texas?

Im no fan of all these schools retro-claiming NCs, but if anyone has a legitimate reason to claim, the 1919 A&M team that was undefeated, untied, and UNSCORED on is a pretty good place to start. Southwest teams disnt get nearly the publicity or favoritism shown Midwest and West Coast teams.

SI shows Illinois as NC that year with a record of 6-1. They outscored their opponents 91-48.

A&M was 10-0, outscoring its opponents 275-0.

Tennessee was literally 1 game away from making the playoffs. And this was with a shitty roster new coach inherited. I see Heupel competing for titles year in and year out.

You have never been to College Station. Fact.

It's the historical 2nd fiddle school both athletically and academically within a state it shares with the University of Texas.

Not to brag on Auburn, but they share a much smaller state with a much more imposing big brother, and yet they've managed more success than A&M.

I would never defend A&M but you must have been in the wrong College Station

With what amounts to free agency now in college football, I don't think it's really unthinkable for anyone to rise quickly.

For instance, the Vols improvement hasn't come via recruiting and development in the traditional sense. Most of their improvement has come via the portal.

When college kids start organizing in the same fashion as the NBA and forming superteams, anything is possible and possible very quickly.

Just depends on how much money your boosters are willing to pay to recruit a quality batch of thugs.

No SAT or ACT entrance requirements, no classroom requirements, no transfer rules. Just buy yourself a contender.

A&M has the resources to be a powerhouse, but not with their current administration

I guess you just ignored all the money around college station. It’s not a very naturally beautiful place, but there’s tons of money going into A&M and college station

People who say A&M is “second fiddle” to the other flagship school really don’t know how Texas works. I never grew up an A&M or ut fan, but everyone in the state is either A&M or ut, it’s much different than a UF vs FSU. Both tamu and Texas are the target schools companies hire from and professional schools pick students from.
