From winning a National Championship. Like is it realistic for either to win one in the next 10 years? 20 years? 30 years?

Aggie has three already, so maybe never doesn’t quite mean what you think it means

Didn't know that. Do you think Jimbo can add one more? Petrino should instantly have the offense clicking. Talent is there.

With the amount of money those 2 programs spend, size of fan base, and the expanded playoff I would think the fans aren’t being unreasonable to expect 1 NC appearance per decade or at least around that range.

Tennessee seems to be on the right path. A&M could have the talent in a year or two, but they need to stop the bleeding from the portal and get depth.

If things fall in the right pattern the Vols could get it done in a couple of years.

I just don't think, even with Bobby Petrino trying to drag his sad arse, that Jimbo Fisher can win a national title at A&M. I absolutely think you can win big there... I just don't think he's the guy to pull it off.

And now he has Petrino, who will cut your throat in a heartbeat, on his staff.

Considering we've actually *WON* a football natty within the last 30 years, no reason why we can't win another again at some point. A&M...well...

If I'm A&M my great fear is we squandered our 10/12 year window of being the premier, SEC University hailing from the state of Texas. Now with Texas about to get their own slice of SEC pie, the golden opportunity they had to establish themselves as a national title caliber athletic department could expire on them if they don't get their shite together in the next 5-10 years.

You're counting two that were retroactive from obscure title granters.

The right coach. Maybe Bobby Hill is that guy for The Vols but it sure doesn’t seem to be the case for Jimbo.

There really is no logical reason why A&M can’t. But they need to take a realistic inventory of where they are.

Of course there is logical reason as to why A&M has never had a program sustain consistent excellence on a national scale.

It's the historical 2nd fiddle school both athletically and academically within a state it shares with the University of Texas. Sure it has unlimited oil money, but everyone is rich AF in major college athletics. Printing money doesn't guarantee success.

A&M does have a huge and loyal alumni network, sure. But it's just not really considered a "cool place" to go to school nationally. The redneck JROTC dancing cult bro vibes the school gives off just isn't universally appealing like typical big state SEC schools are. It is also located in a horrible, desolate, ugly area of Texas.
