I was surprised to see how much Evan Stewart was being used this early on, but he’s gonna be good in the future if not now. Now that Smith is out for the season I only assume teams will double team Stewart and A&M will rely on Achane much more in the running game. Did losing Smith make A&M a one dimensional offense?

Until Jimbo is removed from the offense, it will stay the same.

It's terrifying, because we've sucked with him, and he's a baller.

I might be a total homer, but I think we're closer than people think, though. Jimbo's offenses can look really bad when things aren't in sync, but they can also be elite when the athletes can run them well. Watching our games, it feels like we're close, even though we've sucked so far.

But maybe that's just wishful thinking.

If y’all can get players in open space y’all would do well, but that just dropped with smith being out. It might help because y’all will be forced to get creative instead of relying on one or two guys.

Real talk... I don't understand why we are struggling on oline for 2 years in a row. Recruited well. When we run well we are balanced and Jimbo's offense is fine.

We are not balanced at all at the moment. We can't run with any power in short yardage. Waaaaaay too reliant on spectacular plays by Achane.

One thing sumlin did well was Oline. I feel like y’all had a first round pick from the oline 4 straight years.

To be fair, we've only seen an "elite offense" under him like once.

Sumlin inherited a stellar oline when he arrived. I think 3 of them were drafted in 1st 2-3 rounds. But yes, I understand your point.

Last years offensive line and this years are worse than anything Sumlin every put out.

We have two guys in Moose Muhammad (Muhsin Muhammad's son) and Yulkeith Brown (fast) that will have to take over the slot position. Moose had a bad game against Arkansas, but he’s had big plays last year. I’m confident he can do well. We also have Chris Marshall that will get snaps too. Chase Lane is available, but he’s not a slot WR imo.

Yes, we still have potential there, just not many starts there. Hopefully one of those 3 step up.

If you saw the game, the TE Green was very good for Max. He had some tough catches for Max, and Max would rush to dap him up.

LSU hasn’t really seen a dominant Oline in quite a while. Looks like Kelly is fixing that with his two true freshman tackles being the better ones on the line and recruiting great ones in the future

Dude we have a new OL coach. Name an OL coach that wasn’t the exception to the norm that is just stellar the first year. There is a transition period. Plus we are young. The senior line graduated 2 years ago. Last years freshmen OL is barely sophomores right now. You gloss over all the context with your take.

We have the WR's. Whether the QB can get them the ball remains to be seen, but we have an Anias clone in Yulkeith Brown. He's really, really fast and shifty. The problem is that Smith was an upperclassman, and we will be replacing him with yet another talented underclassman

We are playing an obscene amount of freshmen and redshirt freshmen in the two deep. They tend to make mistakes

Either Marshall or Brown are going to have to step up.

That was all Sherman. They retained Jim. You know Jim isn’t welcomed back to A&M bc of the women’s PowerPoint lmao, I think it was an HR call he’s not coming back

This is a false narrative. All the OL studs were recruited and developed by Mike Sherman.

Sunlit got credit for all the development and recruiting of Sherman. The entire 2012 team was all Sherman’s.

I wish Sherman would come back to A&M and retire as the OL coach

Not one dimensional, but losing Anias is definitely a blow. We have other talented guys like an earlier post mentioned “Moose” as we call him, but they won’t be matching his production most likely.

Our entire offense at most positions has a lot of raw talent, it just needs to be refined/coached and receiver is no different.
