If you’re inclined to do so, Coach Slocum is reaching out for prayers for his son, John Harvey.

I’m a prayer warrior who believes that the wider we cast our prayer nets, the better.

Thank you, friends.

Was it a heat stroke or heart related? Nonetheless, prayers for a full recovery.

Texas A&M's RC Slocum's son in the hospital after collapsing while playing golf

quote:

According to a Houston Chronicle article from 2001, John Harvey was born with a heart abnormality that caused his circulatory system to not function properly.

Doctors told the Slocums, John Harvey would eventually need a risky surgery, but advised them to wait as long as possible to allow technology to become more advanced.

John Harvey had the risky surgery weeks after his father and the Aggies won the Big 12 Championship in 1998. He was reported healthy following the surgery.

Prayers incoming for John Harvey and for RC, a man who once extended an unsolicited kindness to me because that’s just how he rolls. Prayers for speedy and full recovery.
