I think this is Georgia's title. Not sure why Bama thinks they have any claim to this.
NFL HoF: Ga has 2 (and Herschel isn't even one of those) Bama has 0
Heisman: Ga has 2 Bama has 2
Top 15 all-time SEC rushers: Ga has 2 (the top 2) Bama has 0
Gurley >> Ingram for current RB bragging rights. Ga >> Bama

(Position)U are things with which you concern yourself during times of tDecline and/or 35+ year NC droughts imo.

Walker did have a solid NFL career.

Tell me about that magical year when Bo put his entire team on his back and carried it to a National Title

If he had gone straight to the NFL out of college he would be an NFL HOFer.

Only been 10 years since our last Natty. But I didn't say anything about LSU.

people are either unwilling to look at the facts or are simply ignorant on the topic but you're correct. He had roughly 3500 more APY than walter payton. Remember the prime of Herschel's football playing career was spent in the USFL where none of his stats mean anything or are counted anywhere.
But even if you ONLY count his NFL stats, he still finished with over 8K yards rushing, nearly 5K yards receiving, and 5K return yards with over 80 TDs. That's not too shabby.
His professional football career ended with roughly 13.5K yards rushing, 6500 yards receiving, 5K return yards, and over 140 touchdowns.

Of course you didn't. You wanted to bring something relevant to the table. Piggy backing UGA was a good decision.

I can think of 21 reasons why you made this thread.

Granted I've been gone for a while, but I missed where anyone ever claimed that Alabama was the RBU of the SEC. We've had some solid running backs over the years. But with the exception of Johnny Musso in the late-60s/early-70s and Bobby Humphrey in the mid-80s, Alabama having a featured back in the vain of Shaun Alexander or Mark Ingram is a relatively new thing.

Interesting fact: there are only 5 SEC RBs in the NFL HOF. You guys have 1 of the 5 (Emmitt).

Nobody cares about NFL production when talking about RBU. If you produce in college that is all that matters. If you get more out of a running back than an NFL team did, more power to you. If Chubb goes on to get injured and never produce in the NFL, does that diminish what he did at UGA in any way?
With that being said, I think the overall quantity and production of running backs in the SEC top 50 all time rushing list says a lot. List below is Team, Average Rank of RB's in SEC Top 50, # of RB's in SEC Top 50, and Total Yards in SEC Top 50.
