Texas Aggies

Out of all the embarrassing things associated with Texas A&M, this is among the most embarrassing. It is perhaps the most little brother thing in sports. Imagine having penis envy so bad that you refer to yourself with someone else’s name. It would be like if Auburn starting referring to themselves as the “Alabama Tigers.”

Most old school A&M memorabilia says “Texas Aggies” instead of “Texas A&M”. Our logo also used to be just a block “T” instead of “aTm” that you see today. At some point they began using the A&M on stuff to differentiate ourselves from Texas. I’ve heard it’s because when things became televised you couldn’t tell the difference on black and white TV sets. Most of the throwback gear you buy either has just the block T or Texas Aggies on it.

Yeah, when we come to town, there's always a sellout crowd, and always a gimmick (white-out, etc.).

Pretty cool in general.
