So 40 wins = 57 wins
I stated Cohen getting to 40 wins or more as 40 wins in baseball is about the equivalent of a 10 win football season..meaning if you get 40 regular season wins then you're pretty damn good. The point was to show that he has steadily progressed and this season isn't a fluke.
Cohen is building his own program that will rival any other SEC program in the near future.

0.
The past is terrible. The holocaust, slavery, Army winning NC's, and the bubonic plague all happened in the past.

That may very well be the case, but it is still baseball and until proven otherwise this may very well just be another Fresno State or Georgia of recent years (a team getting hot at the right time). Mitch Gaspard looked great out the gate at Alabama and had the pedigree too. But we see where he's at now. That being said, I realize Cohen got to a CWS and Gaspard was only a Super Regional. But the point still stands, as Cohen is still 61-88 in SEC play.

You have some nerve to be flaming State after all the shite you talked about us all year and sunshine pumped your own team and how we wouldn't host and Arkansas would go far in the postseason.
How'd those predictions work out for ya?

The only 2 on that list that are ahead of State in overall baseball accomplishments are USC and LSU.

Alabama and Mississippi State have the same number of conference titles and both are near in all-time wins. Alabama has the more recent regular season title.

If you have to create fantasy banners and do not consider actually playing for the NC as a bigger accomplishment than "sweet 16s, elite 8s, and final fours".

Yes but to be fair he inherited a dumpster fire and the first 2 years were awful as he had to completely rebuild. That stat is highly irrelevant at this point

I fail to see how showing us tied for 12th in Omaha appearances since 1980 does ANYTHING to disprove an illustrious past?
Well then I suppose we should just agree to disagree. To me, being tied for 12th in CWS appearances and being behind 15 other schools that have won titles, in a 30 year period, is not illustrious. If you feel that it is, then so be it.

I wouldn't put "playing" for the NC much higher than the semifinal unless you actually win it.
State has more CWS appearances and/or more SEC titles than all but LSU and USC. MSU also has the highest all time winning percentage in the SEC
Spin it how you want, but overall State has the better program than everyone but LSU and USC.

Alabama has two runner-up finishes (1983 and 1997). Has State played for a national title?

So, the new Arkansas line is "all that matters is titles?" Hilarious since you fools were ready to hang a banner for the PRESEASON #1 ranking...
What's the line going to change to when we actually do win one?

I give you that Alabama is ALOT better historically than they've been lately. A case could certainly be made that overall you belong on the same tier that we do...

Sorry, but since expansion, which is when USC and Arkansas joined....State has less conference titles than...Vandy, LSU, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

"Final fours" are harder to get to, apparently.

Correct. My jimmies are rustled that we didn't get to go through you this postseason and build on the trend we started last year.
We aren't even playing anymore - it's sad that you can't let it go - go enjoy this - this might be States best year ever and who knows when it will happen again.

LSU is clearly above us no doubt
But other than that it seems this thread is a check in for jealous Arkansas and Bama fans.

Good for you -- you found a "useless" stat that you could hang your hat on. Enjoy it -- because next year, when Georgia, Tennessee, and Mizzou rotate onto our schedule -- that little stigma goes away.

This is why State can't have nice things
