Overrated?

Flukish?

Malzahn-ish?

Pretty obvious UF will suck next year without Grier right? How long does McElwain last before UF begins looking for another coach?

TIA

He seems like a very good coach. If he is able to get a qb who doesn't shite his pants every play, i think he will have a long successful tenure in the SEC

Hard to tell with a down east. Still a great coach to win the east in his first year.

Got extremely lucky this season. Inherited a great defense. Had a good QB until he roided. Pretty much starting over next season likely with all the early entrees.

Call back next season.

Great coach
Solid plan and sticks to it
Solid fundamentals
Football knowledge

He had a great plan for Bama. He just din't have the players to execute it. Their plan was as sound as I've seen against along with Ole Miss and UT. You have a good solid, non-gimmicky coach that is going to win some big games. He just needs HIS personnel.

Proves so far that he's no better than Muschamp without a QB

Could be a great coach. Too early to tell. I'll reserve judgement for a couple more years.

And judging from last year's class and the current commits, not a good recruiter.

Wouldn't say flukish but strange with how they finished. Not going to blame him for Harris. Considering most thought Florida would be at the bottom of the East, he deserves some praise.

Looks like a very good hire . Like others stated east is down but the west was as well. Next year D should be solid and Gear back around the 4th game. We shall have a better gauge next year.

How this recruiting cycle shapes up will tell a lot about McElwain's future, particularly at QB. If Eason ends up at UF, I'd expect Mc to compete for the east more times than not.

He had a QB for half the season in a very, very weak east. McElwain could turn out to be a great fit for Florida. But so far, after Grier got suspended for cheating, the offense went right back to where it was when Muschamp was coaching.

Of all the possible knocks on McElwain, this is is the strangest. He saved last year's class by adding Cece Jefferson, Martez Ivey, Antonio Callaway, and Jordan Scarlett very late.

We would have lost at least two more games this year without AC and not been very competitive in several more. Statistically he was the best true freshman receiver in UF history and that's saying something.

Regardless of QB he still managed to close out. How ever ugly it was gotta give him props on that.

He does seem Malzhan ish imploding at the end of the season, or you could even say kind of like Bert but end of season weakness.

I dislike Florida results more than anyone here this season, but they closed out. Very very weak schedule but they are on top

Hey, the man found a dentist who can kick. He can do anything. On second thought, the guy really can't kick so well, so maybe not.

hes a great coach. In his first year he took a struggling florida to atl without their qb. When he gets his qb back, they will be dangerous. No coach can make Treon Harris good.
