First question. Where did you spend time in South Carolina?
and
Second question. What?

Interesting choice. Kind of like...
a) slide down a 50 foot razor blade into a pool of alcohol,
or
b) suck Hillary Clinton's nose until her head caves in.

Never responded to him on Twitter. He dm'd me once but I muted him. The acct he knew about was suspended permanently last night anyway and he doesn't know what the new account is.
And I'd jump off a bridge with cement blocks on my feet before I ever dated Tillman or any tater for that matter. Tried that once with the ex and it was an unmitigated disaster of a mistake.

Auburn is a way better town than Clemson.
Statements like this make it obvious you've never been to Auburn. Probably Clemson either, but you get the benefit of the doubt there.
The main drags right off campus for both universities are very different; Clemson's area is more of a self-contained village atmosphere, while Auburn's in two streets with a bunch of shops. Looks different. A fan of neither school would choose Clemson's College Ave 9/10 over College St in Auburn. It has a more "college town" look and feel.
Getting away from the campus, Auburn/Opelika is much bigger than Clemson/Pendleton.
It is really cool how Auburn has those plaques in the sidewalks with their great players though. University HoFers, I guess.

First answer is Greenville for the most part
Second answer is non existent means I don’t see any SC fans, or they don’t talk about it

they were very motivated to obtain admission to Harvard.
I think this is a big part of it. Especially as it defines the classroom setting. I went to a very solid academic school and folks in my class were going to start their own business of work for a Fortune 50 type company. Competition was pretty fierce among my classmates. Bunch of kids I grew up with were never getting that type of environment / pressure at the state schools.
Sure you might have a guy or two at the state school who starts his own company be he was the exception, not the average. While things have changed greatly since I was in school I have a cousin who was teaching at Harvard up till a few years ago. He said for the most part kids in his class were extremely competitive but I got the impression the Harvard trust fund kids were not signing up for his classes.
Aside from more competitive kids, I do think the networks can be much better at a top school. In KY you have Centre College which is not well known inside the state as it is outside as they have an extremely strong alumni network that helps the school with their students after graduation. The school for years has been a pipeline for diplomatic corp type jobs. I think they only get national attention to the brand public when they hold presidential and vice presidential debates there.
All that aside, do you think as badly as some of the Clemson posters are on here that they actually have a degree from there?

Greenville is only 40-45 minutes from Clemson so it is no surprise you seen more Clemson than South Carolina. If you travel to the low country and the Pee Dee region, you will see more of a combination of both.

You were in Clemson's back yard you big dummy. Go anywhere else thats not the upstate and you will see how wrong you are.

Charleston Southern (CSU) is a Baptist school, and in no way to be confused with College of Charleston (CofC), which is a decidedly non-Baptist school.

I agree that as far as alumni connections go, there is a big advantage at some of those schools.
I had a cousin go to Harvard and another one go to Wharton for his MBA. The former was able to get a great opportunity out of school and was making great money until the party side of life wrecked it all. The latter toiled for years on business ideas with little to show for it (very driven), before he found something that worked (still not as well off as a couple of buddies with no college to speak of). His success had little to do with his intelligence or pedigree, and everything to do with tenacity.
The world is full of successful businesses from people without a college degree or a degree from some no name school. The great business ideas are not confined to the halls of Harvard or Yale. Often the best opportunities are on some unexplored patch of dirt far away from the world of MBAs. Right place at the right time plays a big part in it too, which is why going to an Ivy League school doesn't mean you will automatically end up better from the kid from State U.
In fact, the studies show that your conclusion about the value of Ivy League schools is actually the opposite...
Ivy League Earnings Myth
quote:
Here, however, is what was explosive: Dale and Krueger concluded that students, who were accepted into elite schools, but went to less selective institutions, earned salaries just as high as Ivy League grads. For instance, if a teenager gained entry to Harvard, but ended up attending Penn State, his or her salary prospects would be the same.
In the pair's newest study, the findings are even more amazing. Applicants, who shared similar high SAT scores with Ivy League applicants could have been rejected from the elite schools that they applied to and yet they still enjoyed similar average salaries as the graduates from elite schools. In the study, the better predictor of earnings was the average SAT scores of the most selective school a teenager applied to and not the typical scores of the institution the student attended.

Obviously. Your ground breaking assessment of "Auburn is better" proves you've spent many days at both.
You should get a gig at Conde Nast.

I tell you, I'm shocked that you think Clemson is better than Auburn. Shocked.
I just like Auburn's town better. I'm 99.9999% sure that I'm not the only one who thinks that, too. It is ok. I promise.
