Are any of you bona fide softball fans? As in you get hyped over women's (or men's if you swing that way) softball?
If not a big softball fan in general, do you get excited over your program's softball team?
Having the 10th player in the field really bothers me as does aluminium bats.
I played some softball in the Marine Corps (basically regimental league which was somewhat serious) but could never get into watching it.I am however, going to make myself watch some this spring.

I'm not a bonafide fan, but I think post season softball is entertaining to watch. More entertaining than college baseball to be honest.

From what I've seen of it, it's like most teams just play small ball. To me, that shite is boring. I would rather these girls just swing away. Step up and just smack one.

I like to joke about aluminum bats but I didn't know this. Ok, that makes it a little bit better. Thanks.

I like to see jacks (you do get a few of these) and doubles off the fence and that sort of thing. But, yeah you're right. The field does make the game go that way.

I've enjoyed the Successes we've had at LSU, wicked cool pitch motion, post season has some nice tense matchups.

I watch Bama if I happen to notice they're on. Or if it's the postseason. I wouldn't call myself a bonafide fan, but I definitely prefer it to baseball.

I don't get overly hyped about it, but I follow it and will watch the Gators if on TV. That said, I tend to follow any Gator sport that has a good chance of winning a championship - keeps me fairly busy in the Spring

Not really, but Auburn's good enough that I keep up

Bama baseball hit 46 HRs last year
Bama softball hit 37
not that big a difference

This is somewhat true, but it really depends on the team. Most of them only have maybe 2 players in the lineup slapping, and the rest swing away. I'm almost certain there are more HRs in college softball than college baseball. And I like both btw
Eta: A&M softball hit 60 HRs last year. Baseball hit 52. And in 2016 softball hit 86.
