It's nice to have our 3 horses recognized but it all comes down to if ZM can stretch the field for them to be truly effective.

I was thinking the same thing. Not having break away speed really hurt him 2 seasons ago

If I could pick, it would be Gurly and Hill. Those are the two best RBs, IMO.

What makes hill better than yeldon? Or Gurley?

Kenny Hilliard shouldn't be on that list, seriously. People jack off over him, but he is nothing special at all.

He's a pretty solid back.

I don't want to put words in his mouth, but I think he was speaking more to the fact that Hill and Gurley are the main go to back for their respective teams, and Yeldon is going into his first season without Eddie Lacy wearing down defenses in addition to him getting in. I don't think he was saying either was better, just that Yeldon hasn't proven that he is the go to guy yet for Bama, that's all.

I think that there is certainly an argument for Gurley, but not Hill, even though Hill is a good RB.

Also, EL did not wear down defenses for TJ. Yeldon got just as many (or maybe even more) first half carries as EL.

I just wanted to hear his reasoning.

I'm lazy but I would like to see those stats.
I would have to disagree.

I didn't mean to imply that Lacy wore defenses down for Yeldon, because they got just as many carries together during games. I just mean that Lacy isn't there this year to help out and the question remains if that will be a factor on Yeldon's effectiveness or not.

gotcha.

Why do you disagree? Im on my phone so i cant really compile those stats for you, but every game it was Lacy for a series, Yeldon in for a series, Lacy for two, Yeldon for two, and so on.

I don't know that I would rank him in the top 3, but Tre Mason will have a huge year with Gus now running the show.

Hill went over 100 on the bestest defense ever without the benefit of an o line that is allowed to hold on every play

Brandon Williams toyed with our D last spring. He was far ahead of all of the RBs that competed in that game.

Damn, LSU with 3 of the top 9 according to this guy. Deep backfield again.

It'll be interesting to see Coach Cameron's philosophy on rotating backs. The usual suspects on TD have assumed Coach Miles will be running the O show but I'm not buying it. Cameron and Miles go back almost 30 years and has NFL experience as an OC. I think he will have full control over the offense. I really think Hill is the best of the bunch and will get the most carries. looking forward to finding out.

Thanks. I was wrong, but those stats still prove that EL wasnt really wearing any defenses down.

Can we keep the weeping vaginas out of this thread, Maximus? Thanks.

Have we addressed Yeldon's untimely fumbles in big games?
