The whole Big 6 thing is bad enough in football, lets not make it a thing in baseball

That is circumstantial and should not be admitted as evidence.

So because Georgia Tech won a football championship in 1990 that means they have a better football program than Georgia?

I think not.

Ranking baseball programs is extremely tough right now, but Miss State and Arkansas aren’t 5/6 in the SEC.

History is cool to put on a billboard and all, but Vitello is going to have the BaseVOLS in the top half of the SEC quickly and bigly.

So Miss St should be below UGA as well, right?

Yeah see the whole we won a title, which I get is a great thing, but I don't know if it trumps a program like MSU who was a power for decades, but couldn't win the whole enchilada. It's a good argument though.

I mean Florida has the most conference wins of any team. How much should that mean? A little, a lot? It's like saying Oregon doesn't have a good football program because they have never won a natty. That is silly.

Minnesota claims 7 natties on football and no one would say they are a better program than Oregon.

I was trying to be sarcastic , I think it isn't a very good argument at all. I could understand if the title was a little more recent but 30 years ago. That being said, I'm not this title trumps all person.

This is a poor metric and not just because it places Arkansas at 7th. Mizzou at 4 and MSU at 9? C'mon.

It has more to do with UGA winning a title and having more regular season SEC championships than Arkansas. Mississippi State hasn't won the national title, but I would leave them in due to their strength in the SEC regular seasons.

Hard to blend history with current state / future trajectory.

MSU and Arkansas are really the same. Not much separates them.

Really overlooking Bama's history. Sure they have been bad recently, but they are historically better than Tennessee and Missouri.

Tennessee and Auburn look well-positioned to move up with their current coaches.
