They play tech on the road where the tortillas hit harder than their defense.

No other school in the country could go 5-7 and be considered “contenders”.

Only at Texas.

Alabama

Kind of a stretch.

Here's the explanation:

quote:

All five road matchups are interesting, though.

That list features Texas (Sept. 10), Arkansas (Oct. 1), Tennessee (Oct. 15), LSU (Nov. 5) and Ole Miss (Nov. 12). LSU is probably the lone member of the quintet that won't be a preseason Top 25 team.

I don't think any of these teams will be elite this year. Usually an elite schedule has at least one or two elite opponents in the regular season. It's not a weak road schedule but doesn't amount to an extremely difficult (top 5) schedule. When you consider how good Alabama typically is the argument gets much weaker.

On the other hand, with both Alabama and Georgia with a decent out of conference schedule? Mississippi State seems pretty challenging
(OOC: Memphis, @Arizona, Bowling Green. SEC: Georgia, @Kentucky, + west schedule)

Really not much difference in 1,2 and 4. In fact the entire SECw has a difficult schedule just in conference.

Ole Miss is the only team in the SEC that plays 9 straight games before a bye week, and then has to turn around and play Alabama (Nov 12), Arkansas (Nov 19), and State (Nov 24) in a 12 day span.

How does State’s schedule not crack the Top 5?

I would trade for LSU’s schedule in a heartbeat.

Swap Georgia and Kentucky for Tennessee and Florida is a no brainer.

I’d much rather play Florida State and 2 cupcakes than a combination of Memphis, Arizona and one cupcake.

Only thing Texas will contend for is hoping to squeak a win out in Kansas

Because in no way, shape, or form is state a contender for a NC in football.

Let’s be honest here, both of these are 3 cupcakes. Arizona is the worst team in the PAC-12, Memphis isn’t what it used to be, and Florida state, while trending up in effort isn’t the FSU of a decade ago.

A&M won’t contend for anything either. Fisher is incredibly overrated …

It is Bama and UGA - rinse and repeat

We open with a team that whipped ohio states arse in their house last year.

Played the orange bowl against another team that whipped ohio states arse last year, we blew them out.

Ready for baseball season again - Schloss actually knows how to coach. Fisher, not so much
