That might hurt if it wasn't a Volololol fan posting the flame. Tough to take anything about your athletic department serious at the moment.

I think the fark board should change the graphic to say He said "it is one of the 28 best jobs in the country and they are paying me more than the 26th best job in the country" It is long, but the font can be adjusted.

Eh in not too worried about it. Its obviously not a top 15 job because of recruiting and anyone who argues different is a huge homer.

Like I said earlier, I would slot us around 20-22 if I was doing the list. In any other conference it would be a top job but unfortunately the 7 or 8 in front of us would be as well.

Cheshire Hog, you strike me as an intelligent, realistic, devoted Hog fan who likes to talk SEC sports with other SEC teams. I don't know why so many of your fellow hogs feel the need to troll the rant and make ridiculous claims, which only makes the rest of the rant more determined not to acknowledge the many, many good things about your program. Maybe you could give lessons to the other Hog posters on how to play well with others. Oh, and congrats on the recent SEC track titles. Good luck tonight, although i hope we win!

Unless you are telling me they belonged in the MNC game and have otherwise done JACK shite in the last 20 years.

I would argue that the list is not about where the program is right now, nor is it about where it's been over the last several decades. I take this list to be about the "ceiling" for a program. And the ceiling for ND is still very high, from a "would I like to coach there" standpoint?

Consider this...what great coach would not want the built-in advantages of coaching at ND? Soft schedule due to independent status; National brand capable of getting you into any 5* recruit's living room from coast to coast; your own tv network; rules made only for you that lower the bar for you to get into BCS games; wealthy and influential alums/donors who will give you anything you ask for.

I'm not a ND fan. In fact, I hope they lose every game they ever play. But their ceiling on this list is way up there.

Arkansas is a little lower on this list than I would have put them. I believe we are becoming a destination job because our AD is doing the things that must be done to make it that way. He's paying coaches and assistants what he should. I love that Bielema has been able to fight off schools who have come wanting to poach our assistants. It tells me (a) we have a staff of guys who are coveted by elite programs; and (b) we are willing to pay to keep them here. That's a great start. Our facilities are top-notch and we are showing that we are willing to continue to invest in them in order to keep up. Like an Aggie poster mentioned, we lack the depth of in-state and regional talent to sustain a program. We will have to find those "pipelines" like the ones out of Miami that may be developing. Keeping what D-1 talent we grow locally is another essential. And finally, we can't afford to miss on our flying leaps. Gotta be able to develop those guys into contributors.

I agree with this, It's a shame Cheshire has to take the ridicule directed towards the rest of the piggies.

He's the standard against which we should all be measured.

Invariably, though, we all fall tragically short.

The list is pretty fun to "Netflix." Here is an example of what I mean by that.

I you cheer for "Arkansas" football you might also like "Michigan State," "North Carolina," "Wisconsin", "Louisville," or "Pittsburgh" football.

Athlon's is full of shite. They make broad and sweeping statements that are simply their opinion. Vandy's Baseball team is currently ranked number 2 in the country. Our basketball team won the SEC tournament last year. And our football team, recruiting and fanbase are improving exponentially. Furthermore, an expanded stadium is in the works as well as a new indoor practice facility. But somehow the simpletons at Athlon's believe they can predict our future. Their opinion is not worth spit. If this is the best Athlon's can do, I recommend never buying their publication again.

Whoa there tiger!! I'm a Tide man through and through but it takes a special type of person to succeed at Alabama. Someone with a huge ego, WILL NOT crumble under pressure, and brass cajones!! Most crumble and cannot handle the pressure. With that said, becuase Bama will always attract top talent, the job can and will make some coaches look beter than they really are(see Mike Shula).

Most knew that Alabama was a sleeping giant and knew that Saban would do great things here. With that said, I don't think anyone expected that he would win THIS BIG!!

The fact that you're such a homer is laughable. AL does not have the in state talent of TX or FL. And Tuscaloosa is not Austin.

These rankings were extremely fair, rational, and well thought out. Which is kind of rare when it comes to these kinds of things.
