Can't think of a reason to ever go to Oxford, unless Grisham has a book signing - for those into such things.

10k+ every game at LSU. Winning the attendance record for what 4 or 5 straight years. I'd say LSU is a shoe in the top 5.

Since you need to take into account the entire experience, (city included) Ark and OM. I would love to see SC play, but its too far for myself and if I'm traveling that much- I want more to be offered. Which depends entirely on yours and your wife's tastes.

Oh and congrats on being able to semi retire (or retire?) at 41.

I've heard Columbia (SC) sucks. Any truth to this? I would think the towns put OM and Arky ahead of USCe , baseball experience aside

I lol'd.

But seriously?

Okay, seriously. As previously stated I've been to Oxford too many times to count over the years - I lived in Olive Branch for years. And I've been to Fayetteville, Arkansas many times - they have a palace for a baseball stadium btw.

But no, those two towns to not eclipse Columbia, SC in any shape, form or fashion. Ole Miss' ballpark compares to neither Columbia, SC or Carolina Stadium. You're going to have a hard time finding a finer venue than Carolina Stadium located on the river just minutes from The Vista and/or Five Points. So if you've heard "Columbia (SC) sucks," you must have "heard" that from a dickhead on a message board or a Georgia fan or something. Or, who knows, maybe someone who hasn't been to Columbia since the 60s or whatever.

Doesn't really matter, but I still lol'd at your bravo sierra approach to asking the question.

If anyone is curious about Carolina Stadium. You can actually do Google Streetview inside the stadium. It is really cool. It goes around the entire field.

Carolina Stadium is a pretty incredible place to watch a college baseball game.

I only suggest this because I doubt most of you have ever been to Carolina Stadium, so you should all check it out and then make an opinion.

Not retiring. The politics of my current job are stressing me to the point that I am close to quitting. I've got a meeting on Friday that might prompt my resignation. I've got enough money saved to live a couple of years without working, but I am thinking I'd take the rest of the spring off and get to looking for work in the summer.

I've worked at A&M for almost 17 years, but our chancellor has announced plans to outsource all of IT. No one will lose his job, but we will no longer be able to contribute years of service to our pensions. This leaves me with zero desire to look for another on-campus job, so who knows what will happen?
