Obviously winning an NCAA championship is the ultimate goal. But there are several other nice accomplishments possible in a college basketball season. What are everyone's thoughts on what is best among these (I put them in the order I think is best):
1. Final Four
2. SEC Regular Season Championship
3. Sweet Sixteen
4. SEC Tournament Champion

2. SEC Regular Season Championship
3. Sweet Sixteen
4. SEC Tournament Champion

Exactly how you listed them

Not that black and white IMO
Final Four is clear number one. But if you win the championship or tourney and don’t make it to the sweet sixteen,

Well, I'd hate to win the SEC regular season and then not even make the sweet 16. Would be a downer.
But, I also compare that to say a middling 9-9 regular season, and then somehow making it to a sweet 16 (and losing then).
Winning the SEC tournament is at least a banner hanging type event. But, lets say Bama lucks out and wins teh SEC tournament this year. IMO, I'd consider it just lucky, and thus wouldn't put that much stock in it, especially, for example you end up winning because there were a number of upsets and you end up beating a bunch of teams like LSU and USCe, and Georgia. Not all that immpressive.

Though a sweet 16 is a great acimplishment for any SEC school not named UK.

Conference tourney title means more as it is set in stone you’re making the NCAAT. This goes well with the mid-majors.
Chances are if you’re 21-10 or around that from a major conference, you’re getting in, if you have the resume. But if there’s uncertainty, winning the conference tourney means more.
Interesting note: the ACC doesn’t have a regular season title, even if the schools claim them. Back in the 60s, the ACC tourney champion decided the sole bid for the ACC. Now more than one ACC team gets in. But the rule never changed, therefore the ACC Champion is the result of winning the conference tourney.
So, for me:
1. Final Four
2. Conference tourney title
3. Regular season title

Interesting that on the first page the range for Sweet Sixteen goes from the second to fourth.
For me Final Four was a clear number one. That is just a magical run. I was excited for SC and I don't even particularly like SC. SEC regular season was a clear number two, that means your team had sustained success for the entire season, not just that it got hot at the right time.
SEC tourney vs Sweet Sixteen was a closer call and I could really see it going either way. You actually have to win more games to win the SEC tourney, but everyone gets in that, whereas for a Sweet Sixteen you are playing against the best in the country and the NCAA tourney is just such a great event it is fun to go on even a little run.
