Rank the top 5 LBs in the SEC 2021.

Series continues onto LBs. I will say this is the hardest group I tried to rank. I feel like I am leaving so many good players out.
#1 Will Anderson: (Alabama)
As a freshman he was top 3 in sacks in the SEC. He can also cover when need be. He is versatile as all these guys on this list are. A mixture of DE, and LB. what makes him special is he’s only freshmen doing this. He’s number 1.
#2 Zakoby Mckain: (Auburn)
Tackle machine right here. Was 4th in the Nation in tackles and first in the SEC. He will also have the experience that not too many players have in the SEC as he is a Senior. You could argue him number 1.
#3 Christian Harris: (Alabama)
Youngster as well with his teammate Anderson. He was solid all around in tackles, sacks, and converge. I believe he was the one who made that fantastic play on Gilbert in the LSU game, but not sure. He’s in a solid spot at 3 I feel.
#4 Henry To To (Tennessee)/portal
I believe he’s in the portal. If he continues his football life in the SEC then he’s 4 for me. Highly rated coming out of highschool. That has lived up to it for the most part. Best player for Tennessee defense arguably.
#5 Grant Morgan: (Arkansas)
Was not on the list now is after I got some info . He now deserves this spot after his production with Arkansas. Smaller guy for a LB but has terrif heart when you watch him play. Arkansas has a very good LB crew for 2021.
Honorable Mentions:
Nolan Smith (UGA)
Micah Baskerville (LSU)
Bumper Pool (Arkansas)
Damone Clark (LSU)
Aaron Brule (Miss State)
BJ. Ojulari (LSU)
Andre Anthony (LSU)
Adam Anderson (UGA)
Sam Williams (Ole Miss)
Nakobe Dean (UGA)
Owen Pappoe (Auburn)
Note: Some if these guys are LB/ DE hybrids you can say. So some will be on the D line next thread.

No adam anderson = list is retarded

#5 Jamin Davis (Kentucky)
Stat sheet stuffer. One of few LBs to have multiple sacks, multiple pass deflections, forced fumble, and fumble recovery. Just a baller. 5 is a good spot for him he could move higher when the next list comes
He isn't returning for his Senior season. Forgoing for the NFL Draft (and deservedly so).
Also, #1 in abs.

I thought he had declared. I will add him into Honorable mentions. He is in the LB/DE hybrid type column. But more of his speciality is rushing the passer you would say? So he will be in the next next list for DEs.

Damone Clark (LSU)
As an LSU fan, no way he’s out of position at LB

Dang I searched him cuz I remember him from several games to make sure and could not find anything about em leaving. Thanks for the info.

can't remember his name but number 4 for Alabama, then number 31, Allen I think, and number 8. Those Bama linebackers all have to be top 5 in the SEC.

We hope nakobe dean can have a Roquan type improvement for his junior season. That would put him #1.

Is this OLB only?
Nakobe Dean is a name that should be given large consideration.
Fighting for a first round draft grade next season.

I’d nominate Sam Williams for the honorable mentions list. 40 tackles with 8 TFL and 4 sacks despite seeing constant double teams.

#31 is Will Anderson, #4 is Chris Allen. They should be one the better OLB duos in America next year.
#8 is Christian Harris, ILB.
Those 3 are all back next season.

No, just no, not after the way they played last season.

These guys are edge rushers with hand down on the DLine.
There's always debate where you put edge rushers on DL or LB since teams use them in both ways, you should really just have a separate post for EDGE guys so that the OLB/DE that rush the passer are all lobbed together as they do the same thing.
Do basically like how PFF does it - LB, EDGE, DI.

I thought Baskerville was pretty good actually.

They are listed as LBs and are a mixture. So that must be taken into account.
Also Baskerville is good for the honarable Mentions list for sure. Hardly missed any tackles.
Clark could not be on there after his poor play, but the year before he was serviceable and a athletic freak. I’m hoping that his poor play is on him not knowing the sceme of Pelini. So we will see.

Not sure but I think like 2 of those guys are from Louisiana or something. Glad LSU is starting to lockdown the state a lil better under O. But letting guys slip is one thing but going to an SEC division opponent is another. Hope we see less of that.

Good stuff. I would say my list is pretty good. But like I said this was the hardest position to rank.
