Going hardcore with some off season threads while on the airplane. Fun times.

Florida

Running back - Scarlett and Davis make up a scary 1-2 punch. Have quality depth as well with Pern and Lemons.

Defensive line - Jefferson, Zung, Polite, Carter, Clayton. Loaded DE group for sure. DT is still a wonder. Riles likely starts.

Wide outs - Jefferson, Cleveland, Toney, Grimes, Watkins, Swain, Hammond - Highest rated group of recruits on team, a lot of skill, just needs a QB to throw it to them.

Oline - Heggie, Ivey, Taylor are good. Johnson is okay. Their back ups are green AF though.

Corners - Henderson and Wilson are strong. Depth is a real issue

kicking - Good new punter and kickers should let this transition go smoothly.

TE's - Promising talent and a top recruit at the position. Had the worst position coach on the staff last year.

Linebackers - Potential maybe, but none are elite. Moving DE's back like Clayton could change this. Reese is decent. Others lack very necessary skills to be elite defenders.

QB's - Jones moves it up one spot. Rest is..well..you know

Safeties - Gardner improved some..but freak this position is bad.

WRs ... we may have one of the best, if not the best, groups in the conference if not the country. Deebo returns, Edwards returns, Shi returns, Or'Tre returns plus a hand full of other good upperclassmen plus we signed a couple of studs.

QB ... Bentley, Jay Urich and Joyner. It's a good group. QB Whisperer Dan Werner is our big addition to this group.

RB ... Rico, AJ Turner, Williams, plus we add two good ones from Florida, Thunder and Lightening. Valentine and Fenwick.

TE ... we lost Hurst but we're still stacked five deep at TE with some really good ones. Hard to replace a first round TE but we're still going to be very good there.

We may have the best punter in the league returning in Charleton.

After that it's anybody's guess. I suspect our OLine is going to be really good. And Muschamp is going to have a defense. There will be a bunch of no-name blue collar stick their faces in the fan kids out there ... some stars will emerge. I really like Snoop Dogg's nephew, the Nixon kid at CB but Muschamp is going to field a good defense.

We may have the worst FG kickers in the league in White and Wozniak.

I believe these guys will play linebacker in a 3-4. If not, you will have a serious size disadvantage up front.

Oline - Heggie, Ivey, Taylor are good.

For a top 5 player out of HS, I've never been that impressed by him tbh, especially at Tackle. Maybe he will break out as a senior.

But really it's probably:

1. OL - Lose Wynn who was fantastic, but add two 5*s that are projected to start at RT and one of the guard positions. Pittman has this bunch in a great place.

2. RB - I probalby have this higher than most, and it depends on Zamir's health obviously, but by the midway point of the season I expect this group to be at or near the top of the SEC with Swift, Holyfield, White, Cook, and Herrien.

3. QB - Probably the most difficult one for me to predict. Either teams will figure Fromm out, or he'll take the leap to the next level. As of now, I'm expecting him to take that leap.

4. WR - Seems hard to believe that our four best units may be on the offensive side of the ball, but as of now I expect that to be the case. Our starters with Godwin, Ridley, and Hardman all stepped up at the end of the year. We lack depth here, which is the reason I thought about putting DL here, but I think the starters will be fantastic.

5. Kicker, Punter, Return units - Blankenship hit over 85% of his FGs last year, and proved he can make them from deep as well in both playoff games. Punter is a little bit of a ?, but Camarda is a highly rated incoming Freshman. Hardman was a great punt returner all year, and solid kick returner. Didn't break one for 6 this year, but I'd be very surprised if he doesn't next season.

TBD. DL, LB, DB - Lose a lot from each of these units. DL has the most coming back, and I think Ledbetter will be really good. LB depends a ton on if Patrick comes back. Think Walker will be better of the edge than Lo Carter and Bellamy were this past season. DB is a crap shoot. Baker's elite, and I expect him to be 1st team all-SEC. Reed was solid in the Star position. Everything else is kind of a crapshoot.

+1. So jealous.

Without highlighting groups, I am hoping the Fab 5 Freshmen on the field for the last play of the NCG lead a youth movement against complacency and keep the whole team hungry and competitive at every position.

1-WR Carolina has one of the best in the league if not the nation...and ours is way better than theirs. Sorry, Cocks.

2. QB Ta’amu and Corral keep the train rolling.

3-OL talented and experienced and deep. They’ll rate highly in all the preseason SEC and national unit rankings

4-DB need a few backups to step up but we return a lot from an underrated group. They should lead the defense

5-TE Knox and Cooley are studs. Knox should have an all SEC type year.

6-DL still plenty of NFL potential along the front despite losing the two starting ends to the NFL

7-RB Pennamon will be returning from a significant injury and Swinney is injury prone. Top JUCO back Scotty Phillips will add to the group if not start. They won’t wow anyone but will produce.

8-LB we really hit the position hard the last two classes and some young guys need to step up. By far our biggest question mark.

Special teams will be very good fwiw.

2. OL - WR (OL Return 4/5, WR young studs)
3. QB - Could put QB in the Top 2 but wanted to start shite
4. DL - need replacement for Payne/Hand should be ok though
5. TE - Return them all
6. DB - One CB with starter exp. One SF with starter exp.
7. K,P - No experience at all.

UGA is soooo high on Pittman.
Kirby is great. But a huge percentage of our success and optimism is in the trenches. Whatever he asks for... give it to Pittman. Worth everything.

Yes five of the players were let back in. Others are gone or told to transfer.

I think Clayton moves outside and Carter. Jefferson I think stays at DE.

As for Ivey. We had poor coaching. None of our tackles have had technique for years. Kid was really good as a freshman than regressed. Bad coaching hurt him greatly. Same story with a lot of players under the last two offensive staffs.

Yep. He's worth the price of having Chaney as OC.

Times are changing. It isn't just Chaney as OC. It is 20 off field assistants working with Chaney on the playbook, practice, and gameplan. Chaney is just the figurehead/playcaller. The hard work is by committee.

That’s nice and stuff but playcallng was virtually all we complained about.
