watching the Bama/UK game I was surprised at how lifeless the crowd looked most of the game. Also the lack of a student section around the court. Maybe camera angles didnt show them, but was expecting a more raucous atmosphere inside Rupp.

Should've watched the game when they played UNC. Place was insane.

The blue hairs are in the lower bowl where all of the mics and camera's are. The loud and more rowdy people are in the upper deck.
The way Rupp is built isn't very good for noise either.

I was at the game. I've been to numerous UK games throughout my life (growing up in Lexington) and I can honestly say that this was one of the quietest games I have ever been to. I think the whistle being blown so often played a factor in lack of noise, as did the fact that every time UK made a great play and got the crowd into the game Bama immediately answered, sort of taking the wind out of their sails a bit. Also the E-Rupption Zone had something organized and coordinated, but I believe the University asked them not to do whatever it was (something i read on KSR). I hate the Blue Hairs (they ruin BDS as well...) and as long as the seating structure at Rupp remains unchanged, it will never reach its true potential noise level
