No troll at all. Just curious.

What makes December LSU better than September LSU? What was different in what you saw in a win over Texas compared to what you saw over Alabama and now Georgia?

I think LSU is the best team in the land. If OU plays you, I don’t have much hope, but don’t want it to be a blowout.

Anyways, congrats on overtaking the SEC again and good luck moving forward!

Defense found out they’re also part of the team.

Defensive talent has jelled and some of the freshman and sophomore studs have come of age on that side of ball to provide talented depth without a drop off.

We’re the old LSU D with the New Orleans Saints offense.

We comin’.

The offense has been there all season.

The defense was very injured in Sept and Aranda was trying to see what combinations worked. We’re healthy and locked in now.

Whether it’s OU or Clemson, bring it on.

this team currently seems a lot more mature and focused now in all phases than it was in the beginning of the season. Defense is playing a lot better and I think the offense has more confidence since they’ve stepped up to every challenge they’ve faced and passed with flying colors.

The offensive line. They started the season with a new blocking scheme and it wasn’t working well. When they scrapped that and went back to what they were doing previously, the run game picked up in a big way. That’s when CEH emerged and that lead to this offense getting that extra gear that many don’t have.

Since then, the O Line has weathered several suspensions and injuries with little issue. They’ve developed depth and have gotten better as the season has gone on. In my opinion, that and just momentum and confidence are the big differences since the beginning of the season.

ETA: The defense finally showing up is a nice bonus down the stretch.

The defense learned how to get into the backfield and how to cover the middle of the field a bit.

It helps a ton that delpit is healthy again.

Also, Clyde Edwards Helaire was good against Texas, but starting with the Florida game, he became a monster in the running and passing game. Teams don't know who to cover.

But, we all know LSU would blow out Oklahoma in a semifinal game. Easily. Oklahoma isn't playing against LSU's 2nd string quarterback if they meet in Atlanta.

Aranda had to deal with lots of injuries to not push people too much too early to keep them healthy for the season. Offense was doing plenty enough, so Aranda took advantage shuffling positions and players until he found our current defense.

Defense got healthy. A couple freshman defenders became major contributors.

Confidence all around.

LSU team has become fearless behind Joe Burrow on both sides of the ball. That is an intangible but the whole team has the utmost confidence in him and it makes everyone play better.

LSU is finally healthy. LSU lost two starting DL in the UT game and one had the tightrope procedure (Logan). The other thing is that we have a lot of freshman playing, moreso on defense, and they now have a full season under their belts. Everybody else can say the same but for some reason I feel that LSU probably has had more. LSU lost a lot in the back 7 on defense coming into this year and we have had to do a lot of "live tryouts" to find out who is a contender and who is a pretender.

People keep downgrading that Texas win. Texas lost half their starting defense with the entire secondary in the first four games of the year. Texas was a completely different team early in the year.
Aranda was trying to play Delpit back in center field as safety instead of letting him play closer to the line. We had to do this because of transfers and youth. Once we were able to move Delpit back to his natural position, the defense improved. We also had early injuries on defense that hampered this team.

Hard to say what was going on with the defense (except for nagging injuries which are always hard to gauge). They always had good players at each level. Some of the young guys like Clark at LB and Flott at CB started to look comfortable. Kary Vincent at NB went from a weakness to a strength.

Defense got healthy and are finally all on the field. Confidence in the O. Solid freshman kicker.
