First off, y’all are one of my favorite programs in the country and I love to see y’all do well.
Sense I’m asking about a guy that transferred from Arkansas to lsu , I’ll give you what I know about mcglothern, even though nobody asked.

If his heads on straight, which is seems to be, he is a great player. He does lack top end speed a bit. He can get burnt but for some reason it doesn’t seem to happen much . I think he’s just so physical and crafty that he negates the opposing receivers speed. He’s very physical with long arms and good instincts. He can tackle also and doesn’t lack confidence . Actually he’s a better press man corner than Ricks (transferred from lsu to bama )is imo. Although, ricks may be the best zone corner I’ve seen though.

My question was about joe Foucha (sp) and Greg brooks.

It looks like brooks is gonna start at nickel.I believe he’s a leader on the team already and he seems to have the spot locked down . He’s beaten out 5 star sage ryan for the job

Mainly I wanted to ask about joe Foucha though. In camp so far he’s been running with the 2s and has been passed up by major burns.yes, we have a saftey named major burns lol. When we won in 2019 , Ed o started thinking he could pull any recruit in the country no matter what and he told burns to look around, like an idiot. So burns just goes to uga instead and decided to come back home before last season. He was hurt in spring , so Foucha didn’t have him to worry about .

My question is, can Foucha play any other positions and how good or bad is he and what should we expect at nickel from brooks because that spot is extremely important

Foucha was ok at times but I was never impressed with him personally. Not a bad player imo but I'm not surprised he is being passed up by younger and more talented guys. I don't think you want him changing positions and not even sure he could win a starting job anyway at those other positions. Not the worst player for depth but I honestly wouldn't be shocked if LSU had better players than him in the two deep.

I think most Hog fans were way more upset about losing Greg brooks. That nickle spot can be hard to fill at times.

So Greg brooks will be fine at nickel? He won’t get picked on or nothing?

Both of those guys played on a defense that Odom inherited and he has had to scheme to hide deficiencies the last two seasons.

Both lack speed. Both have high effort.

I guess my point is that the scheme they played in likely made them look better than what they actually are. Specifically Foucha. There’s a reason Chad Morris signed him and LSU did not during their recruiting process.

Brooks is salty and should contribute.

Not sure you’ll get many solid answers from our end. Most of us here try to lower LSU fans expectations of these guys and specifically Foucha when they hit the portal last winter. Most LSU posters didn’t want to listen and resorted to us having sour grapes. Not the case at all.

Sounds like mcglothern kinda. Just lacks a little speed but is a good player and won’t get picked on

It seems like we’re gonna be running a lot of 3-3-5 so we will have a lot of dbs on the field. 3-4 base d against running teams

Foucha is not going to be a super star but is a solid player and excellent teammate. Brooks has more upside but is more limited playing man coverage. Should do great in nickle
