After a long day of all of you sucking Newman off and proclaiming him to be the "next great SEC quarterback", can one of yall please tell me how you feel that you're better at the quarterback postion now than you were a year ago?

I don't think we are j7st because of Jake's expirence but our passing game could be much better... depending on the health of our WR'S

Well two days ago we didn't have QB with any tal game experience. Now we gave a 4th year QB with two years starting experience.

Who gives a frick how good we were a year ago. We were coming off a bowl loss to fricking Texas. It's not like we were on cloud nine.

It's actually really difficult to transfer and immediately gel. Burrow who is a generational talent as a passer took his first year to sort of get in the rhythm of everything and was working with a very legit passing coordinator, clearly an offensive coordinator who knew what he was doing and most of all:

A Head Coach that understands that he can not be a control freak and let the coordinators do what they want to do.

Kirby lost his OC to a parallel job and then promoted within because he couldn't find anyone -- UGA fans used to scoff and act like it wasn't the case and after seeing Coley's offensive scheme I'm convinced that it's just obvious what's going on.

Even Bobo didn't want to go back to Georgia and instead opted for South Carolina.

Let's list this off:

1. The QB coming in is not a fit for the system.

2. The offensive line is not built to protect a DT QB.

3. They lost four out of five starters on the offensive line.

4. They lost their most productive RB.

5. They lost their most productive WR.

I'm not even saying that Newman isn't good in this theoretical argument -- I'm saying that having so many pieces moving + retooling your entire offense with players who are not constructed to play in that offense is a disaster waiting to happen.

It's also not like they have an offensive guru who can take any QB and make them successful, Coley couldn't even make Fromm successful in an offense built and maintained for him to be successful in.

I look forward to this off-season to see just how they're going to make that Frankensteinian monster work.

Except against a Todd Grantham defense apparently

You can type as many words as you want but what it all comes down to for you and the OP to realize is this. We will be better with Newman on the roster than without him. That’s a that really matters for next year.

People keep saying this. Can you explain in more detail?

Everyone always acts like UGA is lining up in the i-formation all day, and that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Straws, you could just write that it it sucks to be 0-3 and you are mad about it rather than penning a novel nobody will read.

Ok so Why exactly is he not a fit to our system? 2 and 3 kind of contradict each other, no? How do we know what kind of line we have if we lost all of our line? We lose our most productive RB almost every yr, not worried about that position, and no George Pickens is still there. Seems like your just spouting a lot shittee hoping something sticks. Look I'm not saying our offense will be world beaters but I do highly doubt it's worse than this years while it has the potential of being alot better

1) Alter

2) No one said he's going to be great, we're simply excited to have him

3) No one said we're better than a year ago. We're glad to have newman considering the rest of the roster is a brain surgery guy, a walk on, and a TFR.

This isn't rocket science.

An LSU fan saying a transfer QB won’t work out...

I don’t think he’ll necessarily be a better QB than Fromm but he will have a group of receivers that had a season of suck under their belts and who got a lot of experience with a good QB to make them better, giving him a chance to succeed.

Fromm caught hell this past season but the receiver cupboard was pretty bare for him for most of the season. Whoever our QB is next season is going to benefit from that experience, though.

Yep, all those 5 star players vs our old Mac 3 star specials... You won by a td.

I cant wait for next season.

We actually won by a head coach.

Mullen sabotaged Floridas chances.
Hes not even a good gameday coach.

I like Jake as a person and possibly as a future coach somewhere, but I have never been impressed with his long throws, middle of field throws and ability to run.

Newman, Beck, Mathis are upgrades.

Our defense was more than good enough last year. Our offense should have been a lot better with the talent we have. It was either offensive coaching or qb, or combination.

I don't know. We will see after next year. But going into this season you couldn't have told us how LSU was better off this year than last....but wahlah! You were.

I hope we are better, though. I don't see it, though.

You haven't seen Mathis or Beck on the college field yet, so how are they better? We haven't seen Newman with Coley as OC, so how is he better?
