This isn't intended as a smack...just an honest, open question about a Florida media member who made the following comments below at the SEC Media Days event.

We all get our hopes up for the upcoming season...actually, I'm quite nervous about UGA and the pressure that's on them to "win it all" this season---and if they don't, how it may hurt recruiting, and another year going by without a title, etc.

Despite all the "rah-rah" we all sometimes do, I, myself, have great respect for UF, SC, UT, GT, AU on our schedule, and all the rest (this board is so much fun when we wanna sling muck sometimes!). :) It's that respect that causes my own nervousness about UGA's season.

Anyhow, does this writer speak from "where he knoweth"? Just curious about your comments.

***************

“Florida is teetering on the brink,” said one person who covers the program (UF) and knows it well. “Yeah, they’ve lost a lot of guys going into this season, and there could be another one they lose here soon. They are going to be sitting at like 75 scholarship guys, and no one acts like there’s anything going on wrong, but that’s not normal.”

“It’s a problem - maybe they’ve just convinced themselves they are good enough to beat UGA with the top group they have. But I’m telling you right now they are one or two injuries away from having a real issue on their hands.”

To be honest we are short on full squad. With that said any team is one or two injuries away from a bad season. He mentioned UGA. Who do they have if they lose Fromm? UF fans and writers are notorious for being pesemstic and it is cooling down but was at an all time high the past two years.

I think losing a QB would kill most teams. I don’t know anything about UFs depth, but late in Richt’s tenure we were often 5-15 players under scholarship limits. Seems kind of crazy.

Mike Bianchi?
Almost every team in college football is a few key injuries away from a real problem. What happens to UGA's season if Fromm goes down in game 1 or 2 of the season? Would that be a real problem?

Mike Bianchi?

Isn't he a big Gators fan? Would he be that honest and open about it even if it were true?

Any team except for Bama and Clemson has this problem.

No, He's the moron who said Mississippi state should be replaced by UCF in the SEC. He works for the Orlando paper. He is a UCF honk, and a professional shite stirrer.

Ok, then...I had him pegged wrong. I guess he could be one to make those kinds of comments, if he was the one who made them. I don't know who the writer is.

At Florida, we have three different Quarterbacks with live reps who have been with the school for (4 years, Trask) and (2 years, Emory Jones).

Georgia has one walk-on and a True Freshman. That's not ah, usual. You guys literally have one Quarterback with live reps in Fromm.

Nah, there's kind of a recurring joke among Gator fans about him.

If Florida is on the brink, I've heard nothing from anyone outside of the OL being a bit thin on depth. Outside of that, that's it.

Being 10 short on scholarship players is shite roster management no matter how you slice it. Richt pulled that shite in 2012. It may have cost UGA a title and definitely started the downward spiral of his program when he reached on a bunch of roster filler in the 2013 class.

Didn't you guys lose two five star QBs and all 5 of your top wide receivers?

The point of this thread is that Florida is fine losing players since we've got depth at every position. Our OL is shaky, but even if we lose another one or two guys, it won't change much.

Georgia cannot say the same thing. You lose Fromm, you're done. You lose your RB, you're done. WR? No idea.

Georgia's defense is deep, but that's about it.

Poor roster management by Kirby in my opinion. Maybe you guys should care about your own team?

Is that really an issue when their starting QB drove those guys off because they wouldn't be seeing the field over him? That sounds like a great thing, not a problem.

QBs transfer all the time at all major programs. UGA did lose a lot of receivers after NFL declarations and Holloman’s incident but also signed a high level WR class.

Neither have anything to do with Florida not signing enough players and/or having too much attrition to keep the roster full.

Honestly, this just sounds like classic deflection from your own team's problems. Georgia is lacking depth in key areas on offense. I would worry about your own squad and stop pointing out Florida's recent transfers to make yourself feel better.

Just my opinion.

We have plenty of RBs. What are you talking about?

There is no comparison on depth of talent throughout the roster between UGA and UF. It’s not close.

I forgot we are not allowed to discuss teams other than our own.

My comment wasn’t even controversial.
