The rivals writers said we aren't recruiting him
The Scout writers said we aren't recruiting him
Phillip Marshall said we aren't recruiting him

It's either BS on Newton's part or those sites are keeping this info tighter than a virgin.

His dad reported to the AP that Cam is Visiting Auburn this weekend.

LINK

Newton’s father, Cecil Newton Sr., told The Associated Press on Wednesday that his son was planning to visit Auburn this weekend.

Straight from the article.

Also there is a link on his visit on AuburnBeaverBlog

The writers for those sites are still denying it too. It's a really weird situation.

Maybe he is visiting some friends at Auburn and not the football team?

If he does end up at AU, the DOD needs to hire Auburn people to run their disinformation campaigns.

Obviously nobody can, and thats why the AU staff and athletic dept is keeping things tight lipped.

Why would Auburn be so hush hush about it if he were? Are they worried about offending the other teams he's talked to or something?

FWIW I live 20 minutes from Starkville and a good client of mine is on the Miss. St. staff and he is very very confident that Newton is coming to State. Says its a done deal. He is just enjoying the attention and recruiting process. I also know for a fact that Miss. St. offered his JUCO roomate a greyshirt and he will also be attending MSU.

His roomates name is Chad Froechtenicht and he is a WR I believe. Great news for State. If they land Newton I would like to be the first to congratulate them on next years liberty bowl bid..

I heard all of this after the EGG BOWL and saw the pics of him righting the cowbell and on the field with Mullen's wife and son. The problem is ever since his JUCO team won the JUCO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP everybody and their brother has been coming after him. He went to Oklahoma last week and now Auburn.
I really dont like our chances of getting him to Starkville.

Every fan at Mississippi State would take the Liberty Bowl and be very happy with it. I really think if we could somehow land Newton he could turn us into a 7 or 8 win football team.

Lots of State fans still feel pretty confident about it. Mullen is pushing for him still. When Cam's dad said that he and Cam were going to Auburn, he mentioned that he talked it over with Mullen...That lets me know State is still on his mind.

I would rather not, honestly. I think he has a bright future at Miss State.

He did not steal the laptop. He bought it and was scared when the cops showed up. And that is why there were no charges.
