Newton is a stud. Let's get him onboard. I know Chiz will make sure he knows the rules or he's out. I'm sure Cam will walk a straight line since this is his last chance.

According to a source of mine, Chiz already has offered Newton. What HC wouldnt offer a 5* who WANTS to visit their school. Auburn had coaches at his JUCO national championship game.

Yall Barners are keeping tight lips on this Newtongate. Go ahead and let the cat out of the bag. I actually hope he commits to Auburn if he doesnt come to State.

Cam says he's coming and the guys from Auburnsprorts.com say he's not coming and Auburn is not recruiting him. They say this came from direct talks with the Auburn staff. Someone isn't telling the truth., but we shall find out the weekend.

FWIW Cam actually got in trouble once this past season at JUCO and was suspended for a HALF of a game. Not sure if he will walk a straight line wherever he chooses to go.

Look Rollison has been on the team for a year...he's managed to get suspended in that year for as rumors go either fighting, failing a piss test, or grades. I think you putting all your faith in tryik is a bit premature, and saying that cam newton shouldn't even been considered by this staff is presumptous

I just wanted to relay that it wasn't grades that got Tyrik in trouble, and that his career at Auburn is not in jeopardy. As far as Newton goes, I have it on the word of someone who would know, that we're not interested. All of the Newton/AU smoke is being generated by the Newtons. I've heard nothing on my end that even hints at a possible offer.

That's what I've hearing, but you never know in the crazy recruiting game.

True enough. My sources have turned out to be wrong before, but they've never intentionally blown smoke up my arse, so until I head otherwise, I'll stick w/ what I've been told. The Tyrik/grade speculation is definitely wrong though. WDE!

Stole a laptop I believe.

That really doesn't worry me much. I have confidence in Chiz and his ability to inspire, manage, and discipline as needed. Newton will have two years to excel and try to get drafted and is probabaly more mature with two years of JUCO under his belt. Like I said, this is something that really doesn't concern me.

Why would Newton choose this weekend to come? Wont the campus be like a ghost town? Exams are over arent they? Will anything at all be going on there? Basketball game? Anything?

Do we really need to bring in a JUCO quarterback to compete for the starting position? We had a QB battle this spring, will have one next spring, etc. Personally, I'd like to see us get a guy in who can play 4 years and get some continuity going with the team. JMO though.

Yeah, stealing another person's property is akin to sticking gum underneath a park bench.

“The crowd was charged up, great atmosphere,” Cam Newton said. “That was everything I was expecting and more from the Mississippi State environment. Since my first step on campus, I received much love and warming hospitality. That was a major deal with me.”

I wonder why OU offered him and had him in for a visit? I dont see them wasting a scholarship on a JUCO QB when they have a pretty Solid FR QB there. Wasnt Landry Jones one of the top rated QBs in America last year?
