The majority of corporate america has to meet a percentage qouta of all minorities in their workforce per the population of the area in which they operate or conduct business.. However, football and basketball, baseball are not held to the same principles when it comes to a true representation of the white population. Isn't this reverse discrimination? Thoughts?

You mean Proffesional Sports hire the the best person for the job?? I guess they are the only ones who can get away with it. When the NFL was tossing around the idea of better draft positioning for th ehiring of a black GM... Clay Travis brought up a funny point and said "Why not if you start a white cornerback?" lol. Its all comical.

Geez dude, how friggn silly are you?

Those so called quotas in Corp America are giving minorities a fair chance(especially based on some of the opinions I have heard here on the Rant), when that so called quota is filled with a minority, usually after 90 to 180 days they are expected to come up to speed and be equally as productive as any other employee regardless of ethnicity, in some case they exceed the productivity of other employees

I'm guessing you're talking about Blacks, so if you'd take the time to go thru American History, especially the Military, when given the chance to have the same assignment and be evaluated FAIRLY, Blacks in the Military perform just as well as any Soldier regardless of race or ethnicity

The reason your question is so asinine, is that in Pro Sports if you gave a lesser Athlete a slot on a Team, that lesser Athlete is NEVER GOING TO PRODUCE AT THE SAME LEVEL of that Athlete was "deserving"-----after 180 days, 1 year, no matter how long that quota hire stayed on that Pro Sports Team, he is NEVER going to produce at the level of a Pro Athlete that didn't need a quota to make the Team

The typical job out of college that starts you out in a cubicle, there are maybe 100,000 candidates that can do that job, even a STEM Job, there might 50,000 candidates that can successfully do that job, so the LOGIC says, out of that number somewhere there's a qualified person of an underrepresented group

In Corporate America what you call a quota system (bullshite phrase IMO) could be a factor of that Corp beating the bushes to find a QUALIFIED minority candidate in a Field where there are not many such candidates around, numerous Court Cases have shown extending an opportunity to a Minority Candidate doesn't hurt the profitability of that Company since Minority candidates often produce at an equal level or even exceed the productivity of other employees

The fact that you call them Minority Quotas is a bullshite phrase because it assumes they are lesser in some way, maybe they are QUALIFIED CANDIDATES that just happened to be Minorities, and then you in your infinite stupidity you ASSUME that they are quota hires

The difference is on a Pro Sports Team a quota hire can definitely cause that Org to lose money, whereas what YOU call a quota hire in Corp America does NOT cause that Corp to lose money or become less profitable

Legally Business Owners have a right to run a profitable business, so that Pro Sports Team has to hire from among a very small group of qualified employees

There are roughly 1700 players on NFL Rosters, on the entire Planet there might be another 300 guys that COULD play in the NFL but haven't gone thru the proper channels or haven't been discovered

So there are 2000 people MAX on a Planet of Billions that can theoretically play in the NFL, now do you see why your quota argument is asinine

In Pro Sports your quota hire WILL NEVER BE SUCCESSFUL, in Corporate America that so called quota hire is almost always successful, or at least up to par with his peers

Please tell us that you don't work in Corporate America, please tell us that you don't supervise others or have to write performance evals that affect another person's promotion opportunities, the fact that you even posted this question is CLEAR PROOF that you might be unfit to work in any Corp anywhere on the Planet

Jesus Christ it is minor miracle that any Black Athlete would ever agree to play for any SEC School in front of Fans with these thoughts banging around in their heads

The NFL also discriminates against blind people, quadriplegics and women. With diversity, football could be so much more interesting.

I noticed you left off hockey, tennis and golf.

And you realize the sports you mentioned were ALL white for a long time before people of color were "allowed" to play?

I think some of you need to just give up sports if this is how you REALLY feel about the players that play the sports. It's pretty clear you don't see them as anything other commodities and not as people.

They don't do it for hockey or figure skating or soccer or tennis or other predominantly white sports either. It's because the field of play all but completely eliminates bias when determining the best candidates.

Why do you think it is that even in these leagues where the player makeup varies drastically, all of the positions where personal relationships and biases can have more influence decision making they look more alike and much more like high level positions in other industries?
